anyone else hate NYE?

I always hate the approach to NYE and often NYE itself because for me being an aspie I obviously have few close friends and no close ones, am single and asexual. Therefore each year the upvoming of the "event" causes anxiety in who am I going to spend NYE with? will any of my couple of friends be free? etc it adds to my sense of lonliness. Does anyone else feel similar to me?

I'm probably going to sit on the couch and watch Adult Swim on NYE while my friends go to NYE parties. I'm avoiding one because of the entry price and the other because someone will be there and it will be quite awkward for both of us. I want to avoid the city because I have the most meltdowns there.
So, yeah I will be lonely.

New years day seem pointless to me. The fact that I'm single, and not interested in anyone has nothing to do with it, there just really seems to be no purpose to celebrate the way people do...

I haven't stayed up on NYE since 2000. It's just a pointless celebration of the Gregorian calendar.

I celebrate NYE by going to bed early.

Hate the fireworks too.

I mean, they can look pretty... but the noise is awful, head-exploding, a sensory nightmare.

For New Year's Eve, I usually watch New Year's Rockin' Eve. Despite his stroke a few years ago, Dick Clark has still got it.

Many people in the U.S. (especially in the South) celebrate NYE/NYD by firing guns into the air. I have a feeling that there will be more of that this year because people are skittish of Obama's gun control policy.

When I was growing up, my family used to take me bowling on NYE---which I enjoyed.

When I was in junior high and high school I used to spend NYE at my best friend's house and we played Monopoly and then watched scary movies. That was a lot of fun.

When I was in college, I would take my girlfriend to one of my friend's house where we played Uno. (I had few friends then, and fewer now).

When I first married my girlfriend, I used to have to go to her family's house---very noisy---I hated it. So I came up with a way to deal with it. I would create magic shows and perform for them. At least that way I got to enjoy a narrow interest. But I didn't find it that fun because it was so noisy over there---and there were too many people.

Now, my wife and I and our two sons stay home. Usually, they are asleep by the time midnight arrives. I stay up by myself and enjoy the peacefulness as the new year comes in. I enjoy it in a lonely kind of way.

I'm going to a barbecue at a friend's place, so it should be good.

But I have been to NYE celebrations where there is such a 'forced' atmosphere.The idea of celebrating with a bunch of aquaintances I don't particulrly like or havent seen all year; or worse, packed into some venue with some drunken stranger trying to slobber on me; is not my idea of fun.
