Does it ever feel to you that your traits lead you to rely on a younger sibling for e.g. making breakfast when mom and dad are away, thus making you feel like the younger sibling. I don't like this feeling at all.

I'm much older than that, but my father has made my 5 year younger brother the executor of the estate. I'm sure this has to do with my brother being NT, while I have "issues".

I have an older sister whom for some reason, my parents wanted me to follow around. They wanted me to me more like her for some reason since she did better in school, read alot, played an instrument, and didn't have the social problems I had, so they thought if I spent alot of time with her, I'd end up taking on some of her traits. The one thing she liked about this is it gave her some control over me, which she exploited for all it was worth. She used this to take me to place I didn't want to be, to do things I didn't want to, even had her so called "nice" friend pick on me. It was miserable to say the least.

She's the epitomy of the expression "My way or the highway." Whenever she's involved in anything, she has to be in charge and every little thing has to be done her way. If you try to suggest something else, she says that any other way than her's is stupid or wrong. In addtion, if you do try to assert yourself with her and say something is going to be done a way different from what she wants, she gets up and leaves.

I just wish they'd left me alone and let me be myself.

Yes but I don't mind. For me it's better than being hungry or given responsibility for what I cannot handle.

No, in fact they made me babysit her all the time when we were younger.

I was the babysitter, but I relied on them socially, at least until they all went their own ways. Once we all went to a party together, and the people who didn't know us thought I was the youngest (I'm oldest) and my youngest sister was the oldest (of the three of us sisters). I guess there's calendar age and there's social age.

I love my siblings and would do anything for them, even if we generally play rough with each other.

A great deal of the time it seems that my brother thinks he's older than me (not literally of course, but mentally and physically), while I'm just young inside. He's really childish however and though he is a very lovely brother to have, he seriously gets on my nerves some of the time. Here is an unpleasant conversation we had recently:

My brother: I just feel really competitive.
Me: Well don't.
My brother: What?
Me: It's not good to be competitive.
My brother: Oh don't be so BOSSY.
Me: Bossy?
My brother: Yes, you were being very bossy.
Me: Sorry, I didn't realize (getting irritated by this point that he wasn't getting the basic principle of what I was trying to say)
My brother: Yes, you were being VERY BOSSY.
(I roll my eyes, but I never mean it to be truly aggresive. Not surprisingly, he sees and takes immediate stupid NT action)
My brother: You rolling your eyes? Huh? Huh? Yes you're being bossy, huh? Huh?

I have a younger brother and sister who understand me very well, when my mom is away my younger sister makes all the meals, that is if we are not staying with anyone.

I rely on my little brother to deal with my bratty little sister.

My 1 year younger sister was always different to me growing up. An absaloute contrast in personality. She was alert, down to earth, loud, rebellious and very sociable whilst i was the exact opposite. On the otherhand i could also suspect she has Bi-Polar, which im very sure i don't have. My mum even today has to push me to get jobs and makes my breakfast, whereas my sister likes to do things herself. Even dealing with banking and whenever i need to make critical decisions, even small ones i always run to my mum for an insight and perhaps help, unlike my sis.

I'm like that too........... I may be studying for a job, but I don't really want a job, I just want to get paid for being myself. I would settle for anything to do with tech though. I am wanting to be like an IT professional at some big company, doing all their important computer stuff, but I am currently studying CS instead. I want to know CS for the hell of it, but studying it in uni seems like a waste of money. I just want to be a computer tech expert, doing computer tech work......... I don't think my dad would be happy with me changing my direction after paying so much already though, and if he's not happy with me changing my direction like that, I won't have a roof over my head free of charge. He'd either have me move out or pay rent.... or go into a home, but that is definitly not an option, and I couldn't bare living on my own without anyone else.

I am one of 8. I am number 6. I have two younger sisters. in adolescence and post-adolescence i relied on them socially, and post-adolscence - in early adulthood - everyone would ask them and also me if i was younger than them.
i am still like a big kid and they tell me i have always been weird and different. and they love me for it, even if i do not see them that much.

When it was just me and my little brother (7 years younger than me) at home, yeah, he did all the cooking/cleaning. I'd forget to eat and wouldn't notice messes; so he'd clean and cover both our butts, and he'd cook for me and remind me to eat. Really sad thing is, he's the autistic one, I'm the "more normal, just have 'issues'" one (pretty sure I'm aspie, definitely diagnosed with "some traits", too high-functioning for my psychologist to be comfortable diagnosing me). But he's the one with good executive function, and I'm the one completely lacking-- so I'd babysit him, and he'd take care of me.

I have two younger brothers. I always bossed them around when they were young, teased my oldest brother, got revenge on them when they mess up my things or make me mad, and I treated them like my children. I spanked them, gave them consequences, but I also played with them. Then when they reached a certain age, they stopped listening to me and didn't care about my threats. They started saying "You're not our mother" and "You're not the mom."

They beat me to their first girlfriends before I did, and they had a group of friends. I then felt younger to them because they had all these friends and a girlfriend and they could socialize in a group and I was never interested. At least I got my driver's lisence before them but they had jobs during their school year and I didn't unless I want to count the folkshop and the library but they weren't real jobs. They didn't last long. My brothers worked after school for a few hours, I didn't. Then they went off to college. They are going to be real successful and make more money than me and afford to live in a big house and afford nice things. They are both taller than me.
