They Don't Like People Like Me

They don't like that I don't look at them in the eye.
They don't like that I don't talk to them very often.
They mock my love for math.They want a cure for me.
They want to find the gene that makes people like me.
They want to abort fetuses like me so that there will be fewer people like me.

There are cures I want to find also:
I want to find the cure for back-stabbing.
I want to find the cure for cheating on a loved one.
I want to find the cure for pretentiousness.
I want to find the cure to all of the negative traits NTs possess.

Wouldn't make more sense to correct the actions that hurt people before they hurt and to leave people who aren't bothering anybody alone?

I think it's more low-grade fear; you don't respond to non-verbal language the same way, so they know something's different, they just don't know what it is. I get some of that too..

People don't care that I don't look them in the eye. I went to the grocery store earlier. The cashier didn't say hardly anything to me or looked at me and I hardly said anything to her or looked at her. I don't see this as a problem.

It becomes a problem at job interviews. This is especially true when being interviewed for a job that requires a college degree.

It's been my experience that there is no negative trait possessed by an NT which Aspie is incapable of mimicking. Aspie children are not born wth halos over their heads. NT children are not born with horns and a tail.

What I meant is that we should be more concerned with traits and habits that hurt people than "oddities" that are harmless.

I agree. The point I am trying to state is that we are to "cure" anything, then we should spend time trying to cure traits that hurt other people.
