Posted this in another thread, but I think it deserves its own thread.

May 2009 be a year that advances the rights of people with ASD and increases public awareness of who we really are. Every outcast group that has ever existed are still people through the conditions that make them exist on the fringes of normal society, we are people as well. We may be different, but it is that difference that should be grasped and understood for the benefit and advancement of society as a whole. Without public awareness, we are just another group of people who need to be madfe into normal members of society or cast out. It may not be NT to be ASD, but we are still normal members of society in some way. may God bless 2009 as the year for persons with ASD.

Anyone else have something they would like to see happen this new year?

did you know that the Ravens were named after Edgar Allen Poe's famous poem "The Raven?"
Poe lived in Baltimore.

Yeah, how could I NOT know that? lol everyone here in Maryland knows that. I mean, the mascots are Edgar, Allan, and Poe for crying out loud. Maryland has the best football player (Unitas) the best poet (Poe) the best swimmer (Phelps) the best baseball player (Ruth) the best tennis player (Sampras, maybe not anymore thought lol) and we basically rule haha

True, but he spent many of his formative years here in Richmond. I live about 3 blocks blocks from his childhood home which has been turned into a museum. Very goth-looking stone cottage. Baltimore likes to claim Poe because he died there. :)

Hehe :)

May 2009 be the year I finally get off my rear end and stop procrastinating. May it also be the year that we solve my sister's medical issues for her.
