The subtitle is portraits of families meeting the challenge , the author is Barbara Firesone, published by Jessica Kingley Publishers, 2008.

In this book 38 families describe their experiences of living with a family member who is on the autism spectrum. It is divided into four parts: Dignity, Hope, Opportunity and Love. It is illustrated with beautiful black and white photographs by Joe Buissink.

Umm, so it's the family members who are heroes?

I was actually dreading, from the thread title, that it was a book about researchers. Phew!

From what I remember of the book it is both the autistic and non-autistic family members who are heroes.

Is it a book book like Jenny McCarthy's anti-Autism books??? Or is this one actually worth reading?
