What is your worst sensory issue?

For me it would be either bright light hurting my eyes, or loud noises and high/low pitched ones making me feel sick... Not sure which of the two, but I'm leaning towards the sound.

to me it's sounds (such as tapping, coughing, sniffing, eating etc)
and confrontation (I kinda consider this a sensory issue in a way because the person's in my face)

these two almost always lead to a meltdown and I get extremely angry over it and always resort to self harm to try and minimise it.

It would have to be those space invading people with me too. I have a large "bubble" and it makes me twitchy when people I don't necessarily want in it encroach upon it.

I was thinking of a couple fabric textures until I read the other post, but yeah, it's a spacial thing first.

Noise. I have to wear headphones a lot at work, I can't stand the machinery noises from outside.

Also, when the coupon printer at the grocery store runs out of paper, it makes the worst alarm sound ever. That sets me off like nothing else.

Bright lights when I am driving. Ironically, I nearly fall asleep when this happens... but when I am trying to sleep, any trace of light is unbearable.

Sensory stuff is one of the biggest problem areas of autism am have.
Probably sound is the worst, but touch/feel and sight near enough the same as well-set off by many things.

when am get bad sensory overload of any type,am left paralyzed in both legs for the rest of the day as the overload cuts off signals from brain, and of the worst of touch/feel-am limited to washing with baby wipes because of being crippled with pain from water.Texture of food is another major issue as well-partly reason why have such a limited diet and why am prescribed ensure plus.

am have a lot of problems with visual perception as well, which is made worse by sensory overload and scrambling [ie,can cause from slight visual blurring/blending right up to full blindness-not 'real' blindness but messing with the signals again].

only sense am not 'extreme' in is sense of smell,a good thing as one of the others here seems to fart all day.

With sounds, you are absolutely right. That is me. Loud sounds don't bother me. Subtle, specific sounds like the ones you mentioned irritate me to the point of meltdown if they go on too long.

I will paraphrase your concept of "confrontation" and say "personal space". This is a sensory issue, as you can certainly sense where people are in relation to you. I cannot stand for anyone to be behind me. Sitting, standing, walking, driving.... wherever I am, everyone must be in front of me.

The worst thing of all is when these two are combined. For example:
I remember being a child and going to church. I would be sitting there, and hear the people behind me softly muttering some prayer. That experience of sound and proximity gave me the sensation of my skin being covered with insects, and the desire to pull my hair out in bunches.

Just thinking about it is sending chills up my spine...

To me it's sound and touch.
At school loud classrooms can sound like a pneumatic drill.
As for touch, I don't like anyone around me, behind me, or in front of me. The reason for this is because it makes me feel trapped. I also don't like people touching me.

For me, the very worst is sound. Vacuum cleaners, coughing, dog bark, babies crying, parrot screaming, or any high pitched or repeated bursts of any kind of sound will do it for me.

Light touching upon my skin. It feels like being burned. My arms and face are the worst. It is ten times worse if the touching is from another human rather than an inanimate object.

Small, repetative noises - smacking, pencil tapping (unless I am the one doing it, then I love it).

Bright-lights at night, though that may be due in part to my astigmatism. I, too, cannot sleep if there is any light. I also have to sleep with a white-noise maker or all the random little noises will drive me crazy.

While I am blessed with multiple sensory issues on all five channels, I would have to nominate the feel of certain fabrics, live velvet, as the worst. I have "normal" days, where the feeling just makes my skin crawl, and "hypersensitive" days, where the crawling feeling sometimes will not subside for several minutes after contact and continues to return even as much as an hour later.

Loud noise, lots of sounds going off simultaneously and light touch are the things I hate most. If there are lots of things going on visually like flashing lights I get sleepy and I can't think properly.

Shopping malls are unbearable.

Sounds, and then visuals.

To me, some of the worst sound are: Alot of people talking, Refrigiators, Vacuum cleaners,
CRT-TV's... and so on... High pitched noise can also be very annoying.

Some lights can also be a direct pain!
I do also have some issues with touch and related (Such as clothes).

EDIT:
Yeah, the light issue is worst when I'm tired.
And also I get very bad around many fumes...
