I got some really good sleep today(for the first time), since i decided that i can't take the Strattera. I get absolutely NO sleep while on it. So... after two weeks of no sleep, I was desperate enough to call my Dr(I never call her). She called sometime this morning to tell me another med that she was going to try me on for the ADHD, but I was soooooooooo tired, that I can't remember anything she said. So I have to call tomarrow to see what she said.

I was on it, increased aggression, decreased anxiety, more normal personality, increased concentration. I felt like I should go to a football game or something with a horn and a beer on it, lol. I partially considered the better sleep due to the fact the meds themselves take the edge off the day (stress wise) which causes you not to be so tired - but resting on straterra was waking up atleast 10 times a night (which sucks). I upped it from 60 to 80 and couldn't remember where/how/what I was doing at all for the weeks before... quit it abruptly as my doc went on vacation - so she didn't get the message and got mad, lol.

Either or its some volatile stuff. Personally speaking I was on plain and simply Prozac, not too much in the ways of adverse side effects and calmed me down greatly. Might want to give something simple a go. ;)

I think its more suited for people with severe/horrible emotional issues. Its radical of sorts from what I felt. Somewhere around 120mg its supposed to possibly start hallucinations. Which means if you accidentally double dosed you'd be in trouble.... right? lol.

I looked up info on Strattera, and it says it is a timed release capsule, and that it works for 24 hours. where the stimulant ones come in short(you have to take it several times throughout the day, or long take it once in the morning (works for 10-12 hours)then drops off so you can sleep at night.
My experience with the Strattera is:
GOOD:I was more able to concentrate, not so fidgitey, less anxiety less impulsivity.

BAD: eye strain(unusual vision) couldn't focus both of my eyes at once; couldn't sleep at night(felt like eyes glued open), would fall asleep only to wake up shortly afterwards(never really got into a dreamstate) and this went on all night.

UGLY:With lack of sleep came irritablity, persistant headache, did not feel like myself; very grouchy, angry. In otherwards, a very tired b***h with a severe headache that didn't know who I was. That about sums it up.

I didn't take the Strattera this morning, went to sleep and had a really good sleep except for some REALLY weird dreams. 8O

I have been taking Prozac since I was 19(I am now 34), and it has been WONDERFUL!! ! It pretty much keeps me from falling into a deep no return depression .
