I have to design a magazine for AS Media Studies and with the approval of my teacher I came up with the idea of creating a mgazine for young people with AS.
Would anyone here read something like that?
What kind of topics/subjects would you like to see in a magazine for Aspies?

Advancements that benefit those with Autism. (Not advancements that make autistic people easier for families to deal with, but don't really benefit the autistic person.)

Aspie Obsession of the month!

I like the Aspie Obsession of the Month idea!

I have actually looked for magazines about Asperger's, so yes if there was something available I would read it.

Reading http://www.theautismperspective.org might help you come up with some ideas. Many of their articles are great.

"Ask an Aspie" feature column - Non-Aspies write in for answers about Aspies, Aspieness, and things from an Aspie's point of view. If anyone ever reads Gustavo Arellano's "Ask a Mexican" column, they'll have a general idea - > LINK <.

Either that, or a "Dear Fnordie" advice column, wherein a suave, sophisticated Aspie shares his vast knowledge and wisdom with the world.

I'd read it. :)
There should be a page to give aspies advice on how to cope with things like socialising. There also should be a page for NTs to read to understand more about AS. Also, a section where aspies write in and tell about their problems. :)

One of the things I liked about Mademoiselle (before it died) is that its advice column always included questions about friendships and family as well as the usual dating advice. An advice column that included 1 question each on work, school, friends, family and dating would make a nice balance. Articles on Miss Manners style etiquette tips would work, too, and dressing for success, the simplified Aspie way, might also work.

Profiles/interviews of successful people definitely on the spectrum, one per issue, would be cool as well; alternating male/female, since there are more men diagnosed but more women well known.

For a name, you could try mimicking a well-known magazine's title, and maybe throw in a subtitle e.g. "for the discriminating aspie", or "life on the autistic spectrum", to make it clear it's by us, for us, not by/for parents.

It's fun to think about.

Urban Aspie
Basic black is your best friend!
Dogs or cats? An Aspie's best roommate.
Sensory-friendly decor: the latest trends!
Career profile: life in the mailroom
etc.

Aspie Times. Aspie Post. Aspie Mirror. Aspie Life. Aspie Express. Aspie Monitor. Aspie Guardian. Aspie Echo. Aspie Globe. Aspie World. Aspie Chronicle. Aspie Reporter. Aspie Mail. Aspie Reader.
(most names could also begin with "The" (The Aspie Times. The Aspie Post. etc.)

Do you need any more ideas?
