I find that when I am writing, I will often mix up the order of letters in words. What is this called? Does anyone else here do that?

It's called dyslexia. It's often humourous to see people with this post without using a spell-check.

Dyslexia.

I only do this when typing on a keyboard, sometimes my fingers just get jumbled so it goes wrong. For me it's a motor thing not a mental thing.

Liek htis?

I do that a lot because I type too fast. That's why I use spell check.

But if you are talking about as in writing on paper, dyslexia perhaps.

My spelling is good, I just have a hard time taking notes in class because I will have to correct some words 3 or 4 times before they are right enough to read. And I am a person who does check his spelling, and it is only complicated words that really get me with not being able to spell well. As for letter order, it really bugs me because if I don't check my spelling I will never be able to read my own notes. I also cannot use cursive writing, as I cannot read it, even though I can write it (very poorly though).

I do something like that in handwriting. I leave out letters, syllables words, reverse words or letters, even write utter nonsense words and so on because of an attention deficit.

i actually see the fact i don't give afuck anymore, as progress...so......

at all of 26 i would have laboured over every single word with AS pedantry and exactness.

however, i do care enough to stipulate they are typo's and not spelling errors!

got a problem? just check out at zee back gate....

I have a similar odd problem. Yea I mix up letters sometimes, but even more annoying is my fingers finishing the word wrong. (Like phones, programs, ect that guess what you may mean as you type.) I'll try to type "discussing" and look up and see "discussion", for example. Annoying.
(yes, I type looking at the keyboard.)

I do as well, but I know the layout of the keyboard and use a couple of keys as referemce to where all the keys on it are.

I tend to reverse letter pairs done by right-left keystrokes, but that's because I'm left-handed...;)

Dyslexia is much more far reaching - when I type I often exchange letters in their position, but I read very fast and process written information extremely well.

If it only happens when you're writing and you have no troubles with reading (words don't seem to move on the page, quiver, bounce, shift), it could be a type of dysgraphia.

My dysgraphia is motor dysgraphia but I think this would be dyslexic dysgraphia.

Man I love wikipedia.

It does not happen when I write something with my hand - BUT: Because my original handwriting was very bad, I teached myself a print-type handwriting, so I am quite slow and I have time to think about each letter separately.

Out of curiosity I looked up the symptoms for Dyslexia and it fit pretty well, I didn't think much of the stuff that wasn't the writing issues. I have issues with reading and am a very slow reader that has a hard time keeping track of where I am on a page. Trying to pronounce long words is a pain, especially if I haven't seen them before. Theres more I saw of me fitting the description.

It's mild dyslexia, or ADD or something else. I always mix up letters and skip words but I can't be diagnosed as dyslexic.
Ever read someone's writing that has severe dyslexia? It's impossible.
