I didn't have any issues with it apart from the fact it didn't work for me.

The pediatrician put my oldest son on Strattera once---and it made him an emotional mess. We thought my son had ADD, but now it doesn't seem so. I wonder if he has inherited my AS? He hasn't been tested for it. But be careful with that high of a dosage. Strattera made my son depressed and weepy. We discontinued the use of it after that.

Wow, why are they upping your dose so high? Are you building up a resistance or were low doses just not working in the first place? It seems very odd they would give a stimulant for Aspergers since that would increase things like stimming, repetitive thoughts, OCD and other negative autistic traits.

I would make sure you check your blood pressure often, and if you have any suicidal thoughts stop taking it and contact your doctor immediately.

I was. Did not do a thing. I might as well have taken a sugar pill.

Strattera isnt a stimulant in fact it has good use among those on the spectrum not only does it help with attention issues it supposedly improves excutive functioning skills

get off it!
That stuff is horrible, they gave it to me for my supposed atypical ADD and it f****d me up;
facial tics, dry vomiting, internal bleeding, turned me completely unemotional & uninterested in life, heart palpitations, no sleep, etc etc etc

and when you go off of it, it's even worse!

I took strattera for a little while but I had to discontinue because it made me very drowsy.

My son is on Straterra and it has been a huge success! I think it's dosed based on your weight? In know for the lower dosages (his is 40mg) that is the case. We tried other meds before we got to this one (he's on it for his ADHD side) and they were nightmares. This one has been a dream. No side effects at all.

For those telling someone else to get off of it, I think it's important to remember that even if you had a bad reaction to it, it doesn't mean other people will. :shrug:
