Virtual forum Relationships through WP for ASD people

I am interested to know if this is a common phenomenon and if ASD people are willing to speak about their experiences with virtual relationships that have their inception in places like WP.

I met One-Winged-Angel on here in september of 06. He quickly became my best friend, and we would PM each other for hours. Now he's my boyfriend. I'm currently visiting him, and posting while he's asleep.

any particular questions you have about such things?

I was wondering how you got into his account and if you knew him or something IRL.




I have never had a relationship with anyone from on here but my ex did sign up on here but that was after we met. He made a very few posts and stopped. I dunno if he still comes here and lurks.

Not through WP or any other forum, but I did meet my current GF online.

I met my bf online nearly two years ago. We started talking excessively starting around June 2007 and we started talking on the phone that December. Last July, I flew to his house and stayed with he and his family for a week (He lives in Virginia and I live in Indiana.). Last December, he came here to celebrate my birthday and New Year's with me.

As for upcoming plans, we plan on going to each other's states this summer (he's coming here and I'm flying back with him). For summer 2010, he's moving over here and staying here at my mom's house with me until we can find a place of our own. We also plan on getting married in a year or two.

Our relationship has gone so much farther once we started actually "talking" to each other.

ShadesofMe how far apart do you and he live if I may ask?
