Ok, there's no connection between the two stories, but I saw them one after the other, and seeing them together was just an illusion that made me think. The flu thing is a crock. Why would they call their people home... and then it hit me -- "Is this some secret code?" Do they know something they're not telling us? When it does really collapse, if you're stuck in some obscure place, you might not be able to get home...

Another vote for the psychiatrist. Not even in a jocular sense, this is kind of a worrying and unsupported thought process.

That economic collapse story was referring to an event in September--it was just reported on Monday.
