:flower: If you would be seriously interested in spending a few days, ( 3 -5, or more if you have the funds and the inclination! :) ) with a few other WP members, ( from 5 - 10 - 15 people, maybe more ), in an attractive/interesting/beautiful European location, ( which we can decide by poll and/or discussion after settling on an approx. time for it ), sometime between April and October please vote in the poll to show your preferred month. :D

:!: Please also state in the thread whether you would be available only at weekends, only during the week, or both. Thanks! 8)

Both weekends and weekdays anytime in August.

NB. But almost any weekend, anytime, if it were held near me, so will wait with baited breath for the "place poll results! 8)

:!: People who've voted already please state in thread if weekends only, or weekdays only, or if both are ok. Thanks.

First to vote - yay! (avoiding a tedious task at work today)

Actually, if only a weekend, then any month would be OK (although August may be difficult). For a whole week then from mid-July to Early September is not on for me.

If a whole week was possible, it would be best to go midweek to midweek as I'm sure a weekend is going to be the most likely time people are available.

Worth adding that the aim for the accomodation is a B&B/small hotel/inn so private rooms are available if wanted.

There is now also a poll running to see where people would like to go, at:

based on places people mentioned on Greentea's thread about a European meet-up, at:

Yes, if could find super nice B&B/hotel ready to cut two weeks in two, but what could do is some people come just for a long weekend and others for the whole week, which would overlap and for those who can't make it for longer it is still do-able. :)

I can do week day or week end and any month, I just need enough notice so I can book my mum for babysitting.

I wish I could do that, but my son's father works away from home a lot, ( which I am generally very much in favour of ! ), but it means that he simply can't be called on outside of his, fixed, ( french style ), holidays, which are always in August, and I have never got round to finding another babysitter who could look after my son, ( or more to the point that my son would agree to being looked after by), so except if we met somewhere near here, I am going to be limited to August, ( and perhaps Easter, but that is too close now probably ).

I hope so, though so far London in July seems more popular, according to two the poll-results.

But perhaps there could be two meet-ups! :)

London looks it's best in late September/October.

I picked September.

I'd like to meet others, and will have finished at uni in Sept (plus have no passport at mo, so London easiest for me)

July and/or September are looking good.

But please keep voting because the picture may yet change. It's good to see so many people are interested. :D

As ManErg says on Greentea's thread, July may not be the best time for the South of France, Italy, ( or even London ), because of the heat and the numbers of people on holiday choking the motorways and filling the trains and hotels, ( the french in particular have very fixed holiday "shifts", July and/or August, and the weekends when they all "change over" are horrendous ).

June would probably be better for those places, or September, which is one of the poll favourites. :)

I voted for August, because I plan to go to Europe in august anyway, for Autscape.
It would be easiest for me to combine Autscape with a WP meeting within the same trip. (even if I have to take a flight to get from one event to the other).
