You are being invited to take part in a research study about the behavioural
impact of Asperger Syndrome (AS) on young adults with the condition aged
between 18 and 34. This study is being conducted by three Trinity College
Dublin, Ireland psychology students under the supervision of a Registered
Psychologist. We are encouraging those with AS and a parent to consider
completing a questionnaire. We believe that having the perspective of both
persons with AS and their parent(s) on how having AS impacts upon the
individual with the condition will be very informative and may contribute to
guiding professionals in offering more supportive strategies. The time required
of you is approximately 25 minutes.

You are not asked for and should not provide your name. Data gathered will be
stored on a computer that is password protected and accessible only to the
research team. These steps contribute to maintaining confidentiality. Results
will be written up, possibly published and presented at educational events.
Quotes may be used, but no personally identifying information will be
referenced.

If you choose to take part in the study you have the right to decide at any time
if you no longer wish to continue. You can withdraw simply by exiting from the
website before submitting your responses.

In the unlikely event that the questionnaire results in a degree of significant
distress, please contact your local mental health support phone line (the phone
number will be available in the phone book and through your local autism
information services) or known support service provider.

If you have any questions or concerns about this project, please contact one of
the researchers listed below.

complete the parent survey please click here, or cut and paste the link into
your browser:

please do fill out your version anyway.

Many thanks!

Why are you spamming the forum with this? One is enough!

I did. I asked on a duplicate thread whether I could participate. I will be 18 in 3 months, so i'm under the limit, but almost there.

There are a lot these Trinity College, Dublin undergraduate student's projects.

There are ways and means of doing this. Spamming the board is not how, and you need to be a lot clearer about all the details, just be open and honest about it. All you are going to achieve your way is alienation and the next lot of people that needs to do it will be stuffed.

I'm surprised this tactic has even been approved. Is the supervisor aware?

As ASD boards go this is probably one of the more receptive to research. Some are very suspicious and paranoid of any kind of research (mentioning no names *ahem*). We are quite a mixed bag here, but your approach wouldn’t go down on well any serious forum.

Get your act together. If in doubt contact the owner and moderators of the forum.

I am AS.

There's no "have" about it.

It's my life because it's my personality.
It's my narrow focussed conscience.
That's how it affects my life.

If it didn't affect my life, I wouldn't be me, I'd be someone else.

The words "with" and "have" makes the condition seem like an "optional extra": it isn't.

I am me...
Asperger's does not have me
I have it.
My liver does not have me
I have it
