Umm... most people don't cry when their kids are born. Most people are either exhausted or glad their fingers are no longer being squeezed off by somebody in labor. I'd expect some combination of relief and happiness; but crying with joy is a paradoxical reaction that not everybody gets. Why should you think you have to react in some specific way for it to be acceptable?
Are you serious??? It's not about "acceptable"; it's about feeling the full range of joy and sorrow that make up the human experience. I can write about it and read about it but I am typically numb to actually feeling it.
Your statement is what I THINK - but digger1's post is what I WANT to feel.
Incidently, my husband and I both cried at our daughter's birth. We're both aspie's and it was incredible. I highly recommending experiencing that kind of emotion at least once in your life.
