Would you be happier if you lacked some of your senses?

If I were deaf and blind I would at least be able to perceive a lot less humiliations and condescending treatment. Of course, I could always be physically assaulted, but that's relatively unlikely.

I sometimes feel like losing the ability to hear, so I don't have to speak anymore. I would never be able to listen to music ever again though. Also sometimes I feel like losing my sense of taste, so I can eat healthy food without worrying if it tastes bad. But then no more good tasting food, and I love good tasting food.

It would be pretty nice to never have to endure the stench of people's cologne and perfume again, but on the other hand it would be horrible to be deprived of the ability to smell or taste food.

I would rather keep all of my senses, and just stay away from noisy, smelly people.

Sometimes I wish I could lose my sense of hearing for a while, because when I was temperarily deaf from an ear infection in both ears, it was w o n d e r f u l! It was like I stopped being overwelmed by my senses, and was able to focus a lot more on the actual world. I guess the imput to my brain was lessoned some, which was like a vacation for it. :D

I wish I could find some earplugs that totally blocked any sounds, but a lot of them still allow some hearing.

As much as I hate being overly sensitive to sound, I would not want to trade any of my senses away for anything...

I'm understimulated, not overstimulated, so for me it would be tragic if I lost any of my senses, not good.

If music didn't exist I wouldn't mind being deaf. I have seen lots of deaf people interacting and they are lucky in some ways. They tune people out and focus on each other. They are oblivious to the jerk from outside who tries to divide and conquer.
