Anyone got some? I have so much trouble waking up in the morning. I can sleep through 3 alarms even when they're scattered around the room. Is there any other people here that are very heavy sleepers?

I am also a heavy sleeper, I used to live in a converted daycare and so it had one of those really loud industrial fire alarms one night a housemate burned toast at 2AM and I didn't even know it happened until lunch the next day. Ironically I can wake up to my watch alarm. It has something to do with sounds you know you'll wake up to so if you know alarm buzzers don't work try music or other sounds or try a timed light maybe audio won't help but visual will

At the risk of sounding like a pervert, I have a vibrating alarm clock that wakes me up :)

Build a really cool mechanical lift for your bed so that at a certain time it stands up on one end and dumps you on the floor. That should wake you up, I think.

Yeah, I actually recorded some live rolling stones clips on my previous phone to use as an alarm. But can't do it on my new one. I do have this new alarm thing actually and I could set the radio to come on, but if some music came on I didn't like, I might subconciously throw it against the wall :P And I need to get some batteries for it first.

But thanks yeah, you have a good point.

I thought about that at times, but I need my sleep to function.

My tips:

1) Do rely on one alarm: Use more then three with a time laps of some minutes.

2) Buy frequently a new one: I get used to the noise of alarm clocks and a new kind of noise is new sensation I had to react on.

3) Put one clock with the most annoying noise in the other corner of your sleeping room so you need to leave bed to switch the noise off.

Something made me think of Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book. The book tells of a lion with a very, very long tail, which he bit at bedtime. (Actually, he called it a "Chippendale Mupp," but no one remembers that.) "His tail is so long, he won't feel any pain, 'til the nip makes the trip and gets up to his brain," eight hours later.

So, following the good doctor's logic, how about a huge glass of water? Take notes for a few days, with different amounts, and see how long it takes to process the water... and it forces you to get up.

Other thoughts:
Keep a regular bedtime schedule, even on the weekends.
Google "wake up tricks," like this one: http://www.howtowakeupearly.com/
Set a light and/or music to automatically turn on fifteen minutes before the alarm.
Have a really annoying sibling or roommate come in, not to talk to you directly, but to rustle around and mess with your stuff.
Think about your diet and feeding schedule. Warm milk is a cliche for making you sleepy, but not if you're lactose intolerant.
(Does any on this sound useful?)

Very punny. Don't quit your day job.
Speaking of which, why don't I see more of that here?
I never thought of it before, but why is this not the pun capital of the world?
You'd think it would be a trade mark or something.
Or maybe we all fear the competition.

keep some mountain dew soda pop next to your bed, then drink a glass of it at least an hour before you need to get up. This sometimes helps.
