ethnic/racial and diagnosis?

Anyone think there is a greater diagnosis of Aspergers among certain ethnic/racial groups?

For instance, it seems that there are many Jewish centered resources for kids with Aspergers.

Just curious.

My parents are from India, and I know quite a few of my parents' friends have kids with AS. In fact it seems like South Asian NTs are generally more AS-ish than black/white/other NTs. That's just my observation anyway...

Hmm, interesting. I'm part Jewish and I have AS.

I'm French and English on my dad's side and Danish and German on my mom's. But my last name is French and that's what I look like the most. Mom says I look extremely French.

I've always thought it suspicious how many at our AS meetings have German last names, are of German decent. Or more like German-Jewish. I'm part German-Jew and part Native American.

I'm a quarter French and three-quarters Irish-English. My AS BF is of almost full German descent. There is the possibility that I am part Jewish, since my grandmother was adopted. Her mother was a 14 year old girl who died in childbirth and her last name was Silver.

Ethnicity = black American
Nationality = American
Race = human, since race is only a social construct, anyway.

If there's a significant prevalence of AS among a certain group, it might be worthwhile to examine that group's access to healthcare and general economic status. If they can afford to get tested, they'll skew the overall picture of who has AS. If they don't have insurance or the money to pay for testing, you won't hear about them having AS.

Ethnicity = Celtic (Swabian, Irish, Welsh, Scottish - some traces of Russian, Saxon and English)
Nationality = Canadian
Breed = Celtic "Ginger/Heather" Caucasian

I think personally autism's been around since before there were races; so it ought to be just about equal all around, except for isolated populations where it could be either higher or lower depending on who the founding members were. Won't know if that's the case until they figure out a way to count autism properly, since right now all we've got are really rough estimates that don't cover all groups and have huge error margins, because everybody counts autism differently and there's no central gathering place to total everything up.
