My son has been difficult to feed from the very start. He refused to breast feed, was extremely difficult to bottle feed, move on to solids and so on, and on, and on ...

Yesterday, he told me that he can find it difficult to eat because the food give him "a shock inside". He says it's not sore, and it can happen with food he has eaten before with no problems. He also said it can happen after he's had a few mouthfuls with no problems.

Has anyone else heard of this "shock" when eating, or experienced it themselves?

I've posted this on the Parents' Discussion, and have posted it here as well for adults who might have experienced this.

If I am surprised by unexpected tastes or textures (especially textures) it "shocks" me and controlling the adverse reaction (both immediate and long-term) is very difficult.

Not that I know what I'm talking about ... but

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporoman ... t_disorder

Even tho it barely fits into the context, other than the fact he's eating, lol. Can cause a pain in the jaw from eating and such...
