Does anyone know if the child psychologist NEEDS to see the child who's being assessed interact with other kids in order to do a final diagnosis?

Can they just do a home visit only without seeing how they are with other kids their age and just rely on siblings and family environment?

I wouldn't have thought so.

I was diagnosed without being seen in any environment other than the psych(iatrist/ologist?)'s office, but that was as an adult, and she had some background info from my employer. Does that mean my diagnosis was a crock?
