Okay, I have been getting spam since October now... At first I actually read it, even though it had gone straight to my spam folder, just to see what it was. And it was guys in Africa trying to tell me I had gained some huge inheritance in the form of a dividends from shares a long lost relative had in a ppower company, blah blah blah, and to contact them to arrange for the transfer... So I googled things, and researched, and noticed that this was the worst written email, and that the guy's business phone was a cell phone, and the email address was (something).fedex@hotmail.com, obviously fake... But I found it amusing...
Of course they didn't find it amusing when I didn't reply to them, let alone give them the money they would have been looking for. So I got another of these emails...
As time went on these emails all of a sudden stopped. Now I am getting ones that are supposedly from the IRS telling me I have a tax return, and giving me the same final notice over and again, along with subscriptions to some UK band that supposedly is called Michael Lynch Revived, and subscriptions to mail list about just about everything foul product under the sun and website enhancement, and more.
As soon as one scam is known not to work for me, I get registered for several others by these spammers.
Anyone else frustrated by spam that gets sent out?
Also, I use gmail, and their spam filter has very little get by it. However, the MLR email I mentioned earlier got by today, for the second time, and I hate it.
I know these spammers did not get my email from me, as I am very careful what I sign up for. I will admit though, that one source of spam got my email from me, but not the source that has caused me problems... Just that somewhere along the line my email got taken from somewhere... I might make a new email, but I can't afford to get rid of my current one just yet...
Are ASDers frustrated by spam more than other people?
