As Dr. Asperger was a German-speaker from a German-speaking country, it should be pronounced as Germans pronounce it... 'g' is like 'get' thus...

And so does most of my country, I think.

J as in "jest"?
That's close to how I pronounce it.

It's the "g" not the "J" but I think the "J" sounds better so why not?

Due to the jokes of NT's who want to make fun of us by calling it assburgers, I have adopted the pronunciation of:

Aus'perjers

With a j sound. Infact when I hear it being said with a strong emphasis on the sound of the g it really irritates me - I hate how it sounds...There are other words that I hate in my ears if they sound a certain way also and then there are words I love the sound of.

Even worse when I see people who say they have experience of it - a family member or a friend and they go on to portray their knowledge of it and the whole time they are typing it as Asperger's, what the f-ck?

Definitely a j here even if it's not a correct pronunciation [which would make me a bit hypocritical!] but I am willing to slightly alter any pronunciation that is uncomfortable in my ears and brain so that it suits me.

In Spain, where soft G's get turned into J's, and then get pronounced as H's (like "George"->"Jorge" gets pronounced "Hor Hay"), would they pronounce it "Ass Bear Hair"?

"J". I hate to hear it pronounced with a "g", my social worker does that and it annoys me a lot.

I pronounce "j"
It's makes me giggle when I hear it pronounced ass-burgers, it's harder to take seriously, like if someone was giving a presentation on it and pronounced "g" I'd be too busy thinking about burgers coming out of people's arses and would probably burst out laughing half way through, causing the audience to go silent.

IMO some people are trying to avoid the sound of "Ass Burgers", by using a soft "j".
