I'm interested to know what you're special and intense interests are (and were).

I am interested in Conlanging (making languages) as the main interest and sometimes it feels like that is what I live for.
I also have an interest in foreign countries and chess.

My previous and childhood interests are:

Car number plates
Street lights
Car wheel designs

Foreign countries. I was bored earlier today so I started researching every country in the world on Wikipedia, I'm up to Australia now (in alphabetical order).

I don't know if I have an actual obsession, but when I was younger I had one for music; I had a complete band (all the instruments, though I had to play them one at a time..;) and was in a couple bands. That lasted until I had a family, and suddenly didn't have the time (and especially the money...;)

Now it's 3d art, because I can download most of what I need, and make the rest...

My latest interest is in restoring/modifying muscle/performance cars and engine building. Before that it was coins and precious metals, before that it was AS, before that it was baseball cards, etc.... :)

Hm....well, my current obsessions/special interests are:

-Physics
-Mathematics (Calculus, Partial-Differential Equations, Mathematical Logic, etc.)
-Philosophy (specifically Logic)
-Computer Science (Programming (C#, C, C++, Java, Python, Perl), Algorithms, Computational Mathematics, etc.)
-Electrical Engineering
-Patterns

I know it seems like a lot. Lol.

They are all interrelated.

As a young kid my interest was dinosaurs. Then it changed to dogs, which became an obsession until high school ( I can identify over 500 dog breeds on sight alone). That was when my intersts became a mixed bag of feminism, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered history, left-wing political theory, and abnormal psychology.

These interests are still with me but over the last few years Frida Kahlo, the French Revolution, and comparative religion have been added as well. I love reading about different cultures and countries and enjoy keeping up to date on current events. I look forwrd to elections the way some people look forward to sporting events :).

I have many special interests (I still love all of my past ones that used to be the all-encompassing interest- I just don't have the need to ramble about them anymore), but I'll just list my most-intense ones:
-I Love Lucy
-Cedar Point and their roller coaster statistics
-A Beautiful Mind
-Neuropsychiatric disorders and their neurobiochemical causes (specifically bipolar mania, OCD, and Asperger's)
-OddDuckNash99-

I don't know my interests exactly. I'm everywhere on it.

As a kid, I was obsessed with Barbie Dolls. For my kids, I'm doing them a big favor and that's providing them with GI Joe to replace Ken. So their barbies will be military spouses. And they get to play with GI Joe and the war front. Best of both worlds in one. Hell, I might join them someday. You know, I could re-enact historical battles with GI Joe. Then it would also be educational.

Oh, and I collected coins.

Anyway, in high school and early adult, it was mainly boys, beauty, and school projects (like Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Dream Analysis, Old Testament, advertising, etc.)

NOw it's my kids, organizing my house, cooking fast delicious cheap healthy variety meals, and if and when I can, Aspergers, painting, graphic design, and my little businesses. Making squidoo lenses is kinda fun too.

IN FACT I SUGGEST THIS TO ALL:
CHECK OUT SQUIDOO.COM AND CREATE LENSES FOR YOUR SPECIAL INTERESTS

They are like mini web pages, and it's fast, easy, and you can make money for yourself or a charity if a lot of people view your lense and purchase any links, if you make them available, to like Amazon and such. Just check it out and you'll see what I'm saying.

Oh, and fontography. I'm really starting to get into that. I'm hoping I can turn investing into a special interest. I just invested in a Roth IRA, and opened a money market account. I'm proud of myself. Now I just have to learn more about all this.

My main ones is birds (crows in particular). I think that seagued from younger years when it was dragons. Also architechture and general medical and political happenings, but I don't know if that counts as special. Everyone should be interested in those.

Then why aren't you screaming "You mean 'your' special interest! 'You're' is short for 'you are'!"?
