I love animals; I have an easier time understanding them than people. Currently I have four cats (Cole, Minnie, Washu and Ryoko) and a dog (Leo). My cat Cole is my absolute best friend and follows me around the house all the time. In fact I tend to have a heard of cats waiting at my bedroom door in the morning and usually a couple escorting me to the bathroom whenever I go. :)

Also not only do I love animals but they love me too. Whenever I go to Petsmart for supplies I visit the poor homeless kitties in the back, and they all meow at me as I go by because they know they'd have a good home with me. It's hard to resist adopting every single one!

(heh of course it doesn't help that they write things on the cage tags like "My name is xxx, and I've never had a real home".)

i love animals too!! !! i have six dogs (angel, gizzie, trooper, biscuit, chase, and peppy), three cats (tigger, monkey, and oreo), fish, chickens, plus we feed the wild birds so have tons of them in our backyard. we live in a very rural setting, so we can watch a lot of other wildlife.

i'm hoping this spring to get some hermit crabs. my husband wants a guinea pig. my daughter wants a hamster. my older son wants coon dogs (biscuit is a beagle--a rabbit dog, her mother was a great rabbit dog, but she passed this summer). my younger son seems content with his dog trooper.

sometimes it feels like we have a zoo here, but i love it that way. i don't like human touch very much, but i love animal touch. my poor husband has to compete with the animals for any affection.

I adore animals and nature. I've always felt closer to them than humans.

Currently, I have 3 cats and 2 mice. And I've had many more than that in the past. :D

Like animals very much, relate to them more than I do to humans(seems to be a common thing here),I have rats (2 of them have just been diagnosed with terminal cancer in the past few days)3 of them are himalayan and visually impaired,3 of them are hooded rexes (rex=curly hair)-their colour varieties are-Agouti/white and black/white,and 1 more rat from the same group is just cinamon hooded without rex breeding.
Also have 2 cats (Samianther and Goldiecat),and get a lot of regular local cats staying in the garden or shed, whom are so regular here i've gave them all a nickname:there's Pissycat(so called because he marks everything not moving with his wee),Torticat (a tortishell cat who lives two houses down but I don't know what his proper name is),and he has a black brother with brown stripes who follows him everywhere but I haven't thought of a name for him yet.

Does anyone here have sugar gliders?

Animals seem to really take to me as well. When I was young I wanted to be a park ranger.

As an adult I care about them in the grand scheme of things (nature and all that) but I hate caring for them (pets). They're just another complication to an already complicated life. I have a cat and she really is a good pet but I still hate the complications (vet, food, litter box, etc).

Pets remind me too much of my ex-wife. Always sucking all your care, attention, and petting into a never ending black hole and never giving anything back in return. I want a pet that will rub my back occasionally!

Animals have given me more worthwhile (and intelligent) company than humans.

I think cats, in their own way, are little furry aspies. Think about it...they're solitary creatures, very intelligent, easily distracted, and get really pissy when you interrupt their routines. :)

Mine tend to be laundry basket potatoes. I brought down a basket of misc stuff weeks ago and I haven't had the heart to wash it, because the cats all sleep in it now.

Oh, I can't have laundry baskets around because my one cat, Sugar, likes to use them as litter boxes. :?

My one cat Cole (who is now my avatar :) ) used to have that opinion about plastic bags too (grocery store bags, garbage bags, etc.) If you left one lying around it would probably get used. I couldn't stay mad at him though because he's too damned cute.
