whenever a bee or fly or any insect buzzes near your ear, do you ever get a reaction where you get involuntary, uncontrollable spasms in your side? it will also happen if say, someone stands next to you and just kinda hovers their finger near your side but doesn't actually touch it.

i've asked a lot of people about this and no one seems to have experienced it or knows what i'm talking about. all of those people have been NT's, so i'm wondering if it's some sort of neurological thing attributed to ASD people. or quite possibly, some vestigial evolutionary thing left over from our animal days.

Spasms... like shivering or shuddering perhaps?

I get that whenever something buzzes past my ear or if someone accidentally touches me.

If I understand what you want to say I would say that I'm the same...

Yeah, for me it's more like that... Shuddering, and sometimes a phobia-like reaction.

So you are saying that the feeling in my ear (can't describe) is a spasm?
It feels like some sort of rush... For me at least..

I think this is normal. Especially in the US where our sense of personal space is more on the generous side. I get a similar feeling when a movie is playing on a widescreen in surround sound or when I watch a particularly moving piece of performance art. I wonder why I feel such a curious mix of intrusion and captivation in that context?

I get that a lot, sometimes just having someone stand near me will cause it. I also get a more severe shudder in my head and shoulders for no apparent reason. People always look at me weirdly when I do that.

Yes. I get a very sharp spasm in the small of my back. I know exactly what you mean.
