My mom hates WP

She calls each and everyone of you f*****g a**holes and says that if you live on this planet, deal with it and act like normal human beings. And says you're all evil and weird and that I'm forbidden to go to this site.

(Maybe it's for the best, as I'm not Aspie, anyway.)

I have a feeling your mom is probably very frightened of your not being the idealized child in her head, instead of the person you actually are. Moms can get very irrational when they're frightened.

Too bad. I'm sorry about this . But you say your 18, you should be able to go on any site you want to . I suggest you get your own computer & come on anyway. Doesn't matter if you are not an Aspie to me (I'm an Autie specifically w/ just PDD). My mom didn't want me on here for awhile either (fear of sexual predators) (I think its mainly b/c I'm a girl). But she's OK that I'm back now. Yeah! Don't listen to other peoples opinions & good luck w/ life.

An Aspie sexual preditor. I know they probably exist but its just a funny thought. A lot of the people here are virgins. lol

Fickle_Pickle, nobody said you need to be an Aspie to belong here. On the spectrum, not sure, friend/sympathiser, autistic family member, diversity is celebrated here.

Your mother sounds like someone who is bitter and angry and wants to take it out on you (and WP). You probably should take her with a grain of salt.

one thing........how is she able to make those judgements without actually knowing all members on here personally?

It would be much preferable to say she is misguided. Normally only the offspring would be permitted to say their mom was a "jerk".

We may be weird but I'm pretty sure we aren't evil. I suspect she is in fact worried about the fate of her child who could conceivably become "weird" by osmosis. Or maybe she is a social Darwinist and thinks people who don't run with the herd are misfits who should be culled? Not realizing that everybody out there is weird in one way or another.

She's probably just freaked out you've spent so long with out her noticing communicating to 'defective' people.
I think some people have the philosophy that if someone is 'defective' then they must have done something immoral to be like that. Maybe that's what she thinks.

I also think that its hard to judge over 20,000 members here and lump them into one narrow category. Telling us to deal with it and just act like normal human beings is like telling people in wheel-chairs to get over it and stand up and start walking.

Are you sure it's your "mom" that doesn't like WP??? May I ask what brings you to WP, if you are not Aspie yourself?

does this have anything to do with your attempts at being unpredictable?

ditto. WP has awesome members and the spectrum is invited (not just Aspies) and making division 'Autie?' or 'Aspie?' is rather contrived! We are all ASD - a continuum.
