I had a major breakdown today at school. With the stress of midterms and not knowing when or how I'll ever be able to find work, it all built up until I just broke down...again. Granted, this has gone down from happening on a daily basis to once every few weeks, but I still hate when it happens. Through the course of it I found out that one of my friends as a brother with autism and another one (whom I was right next to, thank God) has worked with autistic kids, so they both understand what I'm going through. So there I was, sitting on the floor of a college cafeteria, hugging my male friend (I'm also a guy) and crying my eyes out.

That wasn't even the end of it. I ended up going BACK to class and continuing in the breakdown. I talked to the teacher and left early, which is something she doesn't usually do. I hate this. This is why I haven't held down a job...ever. I don't know what to do.

I'm having one of those weeks too. 8O 8O

What helps me is setting aside all of my responsibilities, putting my mental health first, and staying home and taking care of myself, even if it means my grades suffer.

Are you registered with the student disability services at your school? They can help.

I had a meltdown today too. Do you know how much noise some 7th graders can make in a cafeteria. My friends thought it was something else and asked me if it wasn't because of too much noise that I was crying.

Oh yeah, I remember. Back then, I was more into shutting them out by delving into role playing games at lunch.
