Artist Portrays Asperger's in work
Something interesting to see for Aspies. It's pictures of an artists' modern work using a guitar, pedals, and amp. In it, the pedals represent the social world as inspired with the help of his Asperger's daughter. Here's the link...

Thanks Tantybi. Interesting piece and i am a fan of installation work, although i thought in this case, the metaphor a little obscure. I like the arrangement of the pedals and the placement on the wall, - really cool - but i felt the amp int he corner was superfluous actually.
colour coding and arranging by the daughter was great.
you see, my feeling - which is always my view concerning special interests and their potenitals - is that it is the daughter rocker's music that can actually break open the closed circuit of the social world.
My question to the artist would be - where is that expressed? it's alluded to in choice of material.. to a degree.
You're Welcome Millie. Actually I thought of you when I saw that as you are the only artist i know that is on here. I've seen your paintings on your website, and I'm kinda a fan now. I paint too, but it's one of those things where people tell me I'm good but I don't believe them. It's like the way they are about my piano abilities. I'll play a song, and I'll make mistakes and not play parts correctly because I'm not skilled enough to do that, and nobody notices all that because they don't know the song that well. I see myself as a very elementary piano player whereas other people think I'm quite the master. Same thing with art. Very unskilled I guess, but the commoners never seem to notice it. A lot of my thing, I stink at reading into things. Unless I'm told, I don't get it. I do it with art, literature, poetry, music, etc. That makes it hard for me to be an artist/poet/songwriter because it's a hit or miss on that. Things that make sense to me that I do don't to other people, and things that I do that don't make sense to me, other people will find sense in it. If that makes any sense
My idea for creating my own aspie artwork would be creating a person and then making a wall in front of that person displaying that's what it's like to have AS and to move forward in life and succeed, you have to break through that wall to make it by working on your aspie traits such as learning to be more flexible so you are less disabled and less impaired. That is the only way we can cope in the real world and be able to succeed unless we are able to run our own business. Then we have nothing to worry about because we be the boss and we make our own rules at work because we are the boss and we are very independant with our business because we are making a living off of it.
It can also be the same thing for shy people. They are also stuck behind the wall and they have to break through it by working on not being so shy so they can meet more people and get a relationship and make friends.
My last piece of artwork broke a drawing of a monkey into different colored pieces. It's because I tend to see things in pieces rather than taking in the whole. So, my artwork reflects my NLD and AS tendencies.
