Most people know I'm obsessed with Harry Potter and that I can mimic the Harry Potter actor perfectly.
Well, when the third movie was released I became obsessed with getting a jacket just like the one Harry wears for the majority of the film.
I would find one almost like that and wear it for a bit, then I'd find another that looks closer to the one on the movie and buy it. And this cycle would go on until my mum got angry at me buying the same jacket. But to me the Aspie that notices close detail I was no near my goal.
A few days ago I passed a jacket that looked similar to Harry's jacket in the third film, but to my amazement it was the exact same jacket Harry wore at the start of the fourth film.
I still don't have the jacket from the third film but I do have the jacket from the fourth film. It was $15 and I'm in love with it.
This obsession has lasted 3 or 4 years.

Is anyone this obsessed with a piece of clothing?

I'm also obsessed with wearing grey cardigans and messing my hair up. I'm going for this 'I play in a mid 90's emo/indie band' look.
I get so attached to clothes it's like people know me by what I wear.

Yes, I get attached to clothing. Normally jewelry-- I can't take it off until it falls apart. And shoes.

I always wear sunglasses when outside, even if it's raining. Have been using the same sunglasses for four years now I think. A tortoise coloured pair from Valentino which is like a mix between a wayfarer and a wrap, very nice for my triangular/oval face.

Sometimes I get inspiration for my clothes from anime or video games, but I don't copy it straight off in a cheap and obvious, badly fitted cosplay kind of way. Most of the time I think I'm the only one who can see the influences, to others it's too subtle and just looks good in general.

There is a character in The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes called the 'Viper,' who is supposed to be a brilliant kid who answers all the questions in trivia competition. He was partly my inspiration for wearing a suit to school after teaching myself calculus.

I didn't think it mattered much back then, but some of the other students were awfully critical.

I also have a black coat that reminds me of Sephiroth's, but I didn't want to scare too many people with it.

I don't know if it's classified as an obsession or not. Here's an example though:
I wanted a particular style of hat. This was a really old design, and there are multitudes of variation on it. I wanted the most accurate example of how I thought it should look, so I spent several days of my online-time just looking at photos of what was available on ebay and online retailers - I didn't want to order a hat that wasn't exactly what I considered to be the quintessential version of it.

Obsession, or just being careful? One hat looked fine on the ebay photo, but when I checked it out at the online retailer of it, I found a photo taken from the side, which showed it bunching up in the back - REALLY cheesey. If I had decided I wanted it, based on their ebay ad, I would've been pissed after finding that it wasn't proper at all. I'm glad I put in the effort to look at everything that was availble from every web-retailer of hats in the USA.

My AS friend only wears one form of clothing everyday of his life...

Usually a button up long sleeve shirt with khaki pants and belt.

No jeans, no t-shirts, no shorts unless absolutely necessary. He wont even change his outfit in the summer when it gets hot.

At least he will always look professional when he goes to teach and feel casual about it.

As for me I find it hard to get out of the whole long blue jeans with a short-sleeve shirt phase myself.

I have a hard time keeping up with leg shaving (having dark hair on near white skin sucks) so I have to wear pants more often.

My boyfriend wears the same clothes all the time{his style}, which consists of black {mainly} t-shirts with a grunge/punk theme... a pyramid studded belt and wristlets. His jeans must fit a certain way as well or he won't ever wear them, it's about how they fall at the ankle. He will "only" wear shirts in a size small, even though he is 6'1" and really should wear a medium...but no medium will ever be worn unless it's to sleep in. He also will only wear Etnies shoes in a skater style that he prefers. If I buy anything else, it ends up passed down to my sons quickly. : P

...we just buy new studs when they finally rust or fall a part, he hasn't changed anything in the three years we've been together. LOL.

^^

With me it's fleece (cold where I live) or running clothes in the summer. But I hate elastic waistbands. And I prefer the color: dark blue. Woopah - wait a minute, I'm wearing black pants at the moment. **Goes and changes to something more appropriately dark blue**.

My gakuran (Japanese school uniform jacket)
with decorated metal buttons.

And bags, everything from backpacks to lady handbags. I use both.

Skate shoes (I mainly just like collecting them)
I used to be fixated on this certain brand of Asics street shoe until I finally got a pair.
Corsets too, but I never could find one to buy. I'd probably have to get one custom made.

I used to be absolutely obsessed with this one floral yellow dress with orange and red flowers printed on it I had when I was 5 or so years old, wore it for years, and I wouldn't let anyone through it away.

I was obsessed with my knee high target boots for ages until they wore out. :(

Well, I wear the same type of shirts everywhere, always. Bonds fitting t-shirts in black or white (the "soft" textured ones), and I go through stages where I like one colour over the other, so I wear that colour for the duration. I suppose it's an obsession, as I won't wear a shirt if it's not one of those two above otherwise (I have several of them).

Shorts just have to be a bit over knee-length and either OD green or khaki in colour; brand doesn't matter.

Now that is cool.

I'm still in love with my new jacket.
