im going to a special program called I-I Introduction to Independence

here is a description from the website

I-to-I is a seven- week summer work-study-recreation program for students ages 16 to 22. It consists of high school students as well as those enrolled in post-secondary programs (such as the Vocational Independence Program) who have moderate to severe learning differences. Students are screened for emotional needs to determine the level of support need. I-to-I students work four mornings or afternoons per week and receive a stipend for their work. During the other half of their four days, the students participate in classes that are practical in nature and provide a foundation for their movement toward independence. On Fridays, students take educational trips to cultural centers on Long Island and in the New York City area.

Evenings and weekends are focused on social/recreational activities. Trips to Shea Stadium, local beaches, theaters, and amusement parks are part of the students’ weekend activities.

High school students in the program are introduced to a college campus and the responsibilities and rewards of living away from home. For the post-secondary students, the program reinforces their classroom education and offers them an expanded social and vocational experience.

Possibly being in a summer class.

If not, volunteering.

oh man....threads like this will make my summerdepression start emediately
I just hate the question because it feels that Im expected to say " I will do something cool" because "everyone else do"....
and I never know if I will survive the summer. Im usually trapped in the city when dreaming of beeing at the ocean and outside a lot.
Last year I went more depressed the longer the summer went until I found something cool to do - and then the energy was lost...

There's a possibility that I might be in the UK Special Olympics this summer, and I might akso be going to Spain in holiday. :)

I will be enjoying this summer by going on vacations, drinking, and working out. And if it works out, maybe i'll even be volunteering to help a local mental disability clinic.

Planning on going to Malta with a friend of mine. Two weeks.
That's going to be a challenge for me:p I'm worrying about it already. 'Cause I like having my routine and not doing all sorts of different things and going from here to there etc. Even during a holiday. I'd just like to live my daily life... but just in another country.
But perhaps I can make it my routine to not have a routine:P

Look how pretty it is though:

how can you say 'no' to that?

And I might go to the UK to see my friend, who I haven't seen in 4-5 years:0, and perhaps to eat at the 'blue elephant' with my parents... a Thai restaurant in London.

I have no idea how i've managed to keep these two as friends as I haven't seen either in years:\
