According to this article, would talking about these 7 subjects NOT bore aspies?

No, I think the problem is that aspies would be more likely to talk about these subjects rather than something more interactive with the other person.

Well, it might bore the recipient if said recipient didn't share that special interest...

Seven examples of “small-talk”. It’s not the subject that counts but how you deliver it. I have seen NTs that could take those subjects and fill a whole afternoon of chatting.

I actually had a visceral reaction to that concept, Coadunate. I got that erpy feeling in my gut thinking about 'socializing' with no real purpose except to 'groom and preen' like a group of bonobos.*

I'll give you the opposite SURE FIRE way to make friends and be popular.

Johnny Carson did this and was one of the best on air personalities in America.

BE A GOOD LISTENER!

Humans are incredibly narcissistic and LOVE to talk about themselves until they're blue in the face.

They will always love to have someone around who will let them blather at length about whatever interests THEM.

I find it odd that people with AS are so shunned for doing the very thing many NTs do naturally.

I find it ironic that doing the opposite (appearing interested in the trivial activities of others) makes you very popular.
