What's your "Soul Type?"
What's your soul type? What were you meant to do in this world? I thought this was an interesting and fun quiz. I got a tie between Thinker and Educator. I don't really agree with the educator type for me but I agree with the Thinker type for myself. I don't know, I enjoy teaching but I find it hard to put it into words for the person to understand. Also, I'm not that great at controlling large classes. I already have experience as a preschool teacher. I find the library career thing ironic for thinker because I'm going back to college for library tech in the fall.
Thinker
Most Thinker types are cerebral, skeptical individuals, who often discount their emotions or intuition in favor of rational analysis. This intellectual approach to life can cause some Thinkers to appear restrained and unemotional to those around them. When hurt, they have to analyze or rationalize what happened before allowing themselves to feel their emotions. Once the emotions kick in, however, Thinkers can feel things as deeply as any other soul type.
A love of books is one of the most common markers for this soul type. In fact, librarians are almost always Thinker types, as are most scientists, writers, and college professors. That doesn’t mean that every Thinker ends up in a library or university. They can find their place anywhere in the world, though they can always be recognized by their analytical approach to life.
If you’re a Thinker, academic learning should come naturally to you, as should writing. You might find it useful to carry a notebook with you to help analyze your thoughts as they come. You will enjoy good one-on-one conversation, as this allows you to process your thoughts through discussion and analysis. Your life will be a constant search for knowledge and understanding.
Educator
Educators are drawn to teaching. If this is your soul type, you’ll have a gift for persuasion that can be used in a conventional setting, such as a classroom, or in a less traditional venue like the boardroom or an online discussion forum. Getting your point across is something that comes naturally to you.
Since education is your purpose, if you do end up in a classroom, you’ll have no problem with repetition—going over the same point until it sinks in, or teaching the same subject year after year. Whether it’s in a classroom or in a less formal setting, you may show remarkable patience when it comes to explaining your point. It is important for you to know you’re being understood. You may have a tendency to be long-winded or to adopt an air of superiority at times.
Most Educators have a desire to demonstrate what they know to others. There’s little point in having knowledge without having students to pass it on to, which is why you will generally be comfortable in front of a class or other groups of people, knowing you have much to offer. Family members make great students and may become a captive audience at times.
Much of what you know may come from reading and study, but you may also have natural insight into a subject, often accumulated over many lifetimes. Educators are comfortable in academic pursuits and enjoy acquiring knowledge, particularly through books.

Helper
You can find Helper types at the scene of an accident, behind the counter in a shop, or doing laborious work—such as garbage collection—jobs that others feel are beneath them. From fruit pickers in California to hospital staff in Boston, Helpers are everywhere.
Helper types have plenty of common sense, and a pragmatic approach to problems that ensures things get done. With their no-nonsense, roll-your-sleeves-up-and-get-the-job-done approach to life, Helpers keep the modern world rolling. Without them, our cities would grind to a halt, and the infrastructure of our societies would crumble.
If you’re a Helper type, it’s important to find something or someone you can devote yourself to. For that reason, dedication to a career, partner, family, or friends will come easily to you. You might even throw yourself behind a cause, like getting someone elected, or ensuring that a ballot measure gets passed.
As a Helper, you are unlikely to seek out a leadership role, since you’re probably happiest diligently working behind the scenes. Many Helpers will spend long years in the same job, proud to have never missed a day of work. On the downside, your soul’s desire to be of service can get you into trouble since it can be hard to say no, and you may become overwhelmed by all the tasks you take on.
When it comes to expressing emotions, you rarely allow yourself to get too carried away. Being stable and grounded means keeping a strong attachment to the Physical Plane and not being distracted by flights of fancy. Your purpose is not to change the world, but to keep it turning smoothly.
You can learn more about your soul type and how it influences your soul’s age, mission, talents, and challenges in Ainslie MacLeod’s book, The Instruction: Living the Life Your Soul Intended.
My dad says I'm very good at sticking to a task once I'm given it but I'm not so sure about the emotions bit. It's fun to think about though. Thanks lostgirl1986 ![]()
Kinda interesting.
Im tied between "thinker" and "performer".
With "creator" and "helper" tied for second.
My monday through friday job is definetly a nose to the grindstone menial "helper" type job.
My saturday paid job is as aperformer, with creator elements.
My volunteer thing I do on Sunday is where being a combination of Plato and Wolfman Jack comes in.
Seems to fit.
Caregiver
The quintessential characteristic of a Caregiver type is the desire to take care of others. For this reason, Caregivers may be drawn to the long-term care of children or the elderly. Though some Caregivers find their need to nurture satisfied by raising a family, many others seek out work in such venues as schools, hospitals, and animal shelters. The long-term care of those with Alzheimer’s, autism, and mental illness often becomes the responsibility of Caregivers.
If you recognize yourself as a Caregiver, you may already have noticed the tendency to put others’ needs ahead of your own. This trait makes it essential that you go out of your way to take care of yourself as well as those around you. Remember that you’re no use to others if you’re not healthy or fit enough to help them.
You are loyal to the extreme, and you guard those who are entrusted to your care with your life. Fighting another person’s battles can be important if that individual is unable to stand up for themselves, though you should be cautious not to disempower those in your care by not allowing them to do things for themselves.
Your empathy allows you to understand nonverbal emotional signals. This ability will tell you when someone needs your help, and how best to assist them. It is common for Caregiver types to intuitively know what someone needs at any given time.

OK, that's a mess.
So, let's take all that I got >10 on:
Caregiver - Yeah, I guess. I volunteer with disabled kids, and I'm a self-advocate in large part because of the autistics who can't speak out for themselves (too young or LFA). I'm not good at reading NT nonverbal signals, but I am good at reading autistics'. Also, I don't tend to forget my own needs much, in fact my biggest limitation as a caregiver is that I get selfish and mean when I'm under stress. It's like flicking a switch. Fortunately, if I'm looking after anyone other than my younger brother, I rarely if ever find it stressful in that way, even when I'm dealing with aggressive or self-injurious behavior.
Creator - Pretty much a perfect description of me, except that I focus on details more than most people. My creativity is often of a detail-oriented kind.
Thinker - Sort of. I like books, I'm drawn to academia, and I think pretty much anything benefits from being analyzed. But I certainly don't come across as unemotional. I discount intuition but not emotions. (What I mean is, I don't think 'gut feelings' are accurate, but I think emotions are important to recognize and act on even if they're inaccurate. If I'm scared, even if I have no logical reason to be, I should figure out how to make my situation feel safer. Emotions tell you what you need.) I do tend to analyze my emotions a lot, which may count as a thinker thing, I don't know.
Educator - Yeah, pretty much. Probably 95% of my conversations I'm explaining some special-interest related concept to my conversation partner (my family is definitely a captive audience!). Repetition thing, well, forced repetition bothers me, because I may lose interest, but I'm told I can be pretty repetitive in my spontaneous infodumping. Plus it sounds like Educator overlaps with Thinker in the love of academic pursuits.
Performer - Doesn't sound like me at all. I think I only scored high on this because I talk a lot and have relatively low social anxiety. I don't need approval much, I love spending time alone, I don't try to attract attention (though I often do because I'm talkative and weird) and while I usually try to do things I enjoy (who doesn't?), it's certainly not the kind of things most people find fun.

All the others were below 3. Few of the statements/questions in this test were relevant for me.
Thinker:
Most Thinker types are cerebral, skeptical individuals, who often discount their emotions or intuition in favor of rational analysis. This intellectual approach to life can cause some Thinkers to appear restrained and unemotional to those around them. When hurt, they have to analyze or rationalize what happened before allowing themselves to feel their emotions. Once the emotions kick in, however, Thinkers can feel things as deeply as any other soul type.
Creator:
As the name suggests, Creators are drawn to creativity of all sorts. This includes conventional artistic pursuits such as photography or painting, and activities including dance, gardening, cooking, and playing music. Without a creative outlet, Creators can become miserable, which is why, if this is your type, you will be drawn to express yourself creatively in anything you do. You have the ability to be original, and will use your imagination to find new or better ways to convey your ideas.
The sensitivity that is a mark of the Creator can be hard to manage in this harsh modern world. It does, however, give you an advantage when it comes to accessing the intuitive part of yourself. The Creator trait of idealism allows you to see the good in others and the potential in people and situations. Focusing on the big picture will come naturally, though paying attention to details may not.
Thinker 18 helper 14
I got an 11 on leadership too which is weird considering some of my answers:
I consider myself a follower, not a leader: exactly like me
I consider myself a leader, not a follower: only a little like me
other people consider me a voice of authority: kind of like me
i have the ability to see the potential in people and situations: not at all like me
I'm comfortable being the center of attention: not at all like me
I don't think it's a very good test
