He looks like a fox, though is probably Alaskan Malamute or Husky (I'm not sure which). Not sure why his feet are so small.
You posted an interesting link - Blood Magic somewhere recently, a sci'fi novel incorporating fields of biotechnology and nanotachnology. Incredibly interesting idea; I might read it (I have just finished watching Firefly, Serenity and am reading a discussion of 'the Black Hole Wars' though I feel it's unfair how everyone seems to be attacking Stephen Hawking now - even though I think it's obvious gravity affects subatomic particles; surely that is relativity, after all).
