Suddenly, a trail of red dots flash past Naia on her stoop. One passes directly o'er her paws, causing her to pounce.

I caught an orb! Gently, with my paws as it drifted past me like a strawberry-scented bubble.

Here, catch, Emily! If you do, the Sprite says you can make a wish!

Splashed Naia, but 'twas just a few drops.

Quackenbush just loves watching Maelstroms from afar....in that sense, it's possible that he is a very selfish Duck.

Deftly, the little duck catches an orb in her bill. It is warm and almost sweet but dissolves instantly, shooting moonbeams from her wingtips and webbed toes like It's a Wonderful Life! Emily feels the power of transcendence and beckons all creatures to come forth! She can anoint them with special powers if they don't delay!

</ Stupid dots. I'll just ignore them ... from farther away ... Hmph! />

Quackenbush is feeling a little religious today---despite his preeminent skepticism.

He accepts the Anointment gratefully, thanks Emily gently, then returns to his Niche.

I think Naia is missing out!

Still, I'm a little scared of the contents of the orb... But like the courageous spy that I am, I cautiously edge nearer to the friendly waddler Emily.p

Quackenbush has been bestowed with....something which must be used judiciously.

Emily has assumed the power to be a cat whisperer. She can tell that Samantha would like to read Wuthering Heights, and that Naia would like a friend to share his perch. When Jessie arrives, she will know how to make these amends. Quacky's magic power remains a mystery.

Emily has bestowed upon Quackenbush the Power of Persuasion.

To be used in reluctant people whom he knows would benefit from the Power.
