What is the point of displaying ones age, if it is not ones correct age?

Oh right... there is an age restriction on some of the things here... silly if you ask me... but that may be because I was always mature for my age.
Don't you think the moderators will object to you hvaing a wrong birthdate just so you can access restricted posts? It does kinda defeat the point of the rules...

Just a friendly reminder of who the Grand Champion is and will be again. Carry on!

It should be anyway! Why is it 17 anyway? What happens at 17 that makes you magically able to deal with grownup matters?
In Denmark you are old enough to go to jail and have sex at 15, old enough to drink at 16 and old enough to vote at 18... but nothing happens at 17!

Most 17-year olds in the states are clueless morons and should not even be allowed to drive. There should be a maturity quiz, combined with IQ, that should determine when an individual is "old enough" to do "adult" things. I was in college at 17, but never drank and still don't.

Indeed, I know idior adults and briliant teenagers. Age in itself is not enough to judge a person by!

I believe most of the people in my school are still children, whereas I have never truely been a child... which actually is kinda sad.

That generalization holds false with the 17 year olds I know at Church. True for the ones I've worked with at Wal-Mart and McDonald's though.

Obviously there are intelligent mature 17 year olds, I should like to think myself one of them, but the majority of the 17 year olds I come into contact with (Not so few conciddering my school has well above 1000 students) are not people who I would trust behind the wheel of a car.
