Emily uses a discarded copy Nietzsche's book as a picnic table, to render her food scraps tidy from the mud. Quacky is at liberty to consider the book with equal disinterest when he alights to shore for his supper snack of grain and cracked corn, which Emily has thoughtfully arranged.

Naia's superpower intrigues Emily and she wonders if she would like to play Cat and Mouse, albeit with a duck. Perhaps she could follow her toward the 'secret ways', and enter that realm herself? She quacks these thoughts silently and wonders what to do.

You have to be quite cautious when using your superpowers, as you don't want to alarm anyone.

Can I share the snacks since I am in slightly less elevated mood now and thinking about affairs of the stomach rather than the spirit?

Emily prepares a third helping of cracked corn, grain and barley before calling Zandrian to partake of the buffet. He approaches with a grateful yet tired expression, arranges his tail, and seats himself on a mound of leaves in anticipation of their meal. Naia's voice reverberates softly but they know she shall return in the batting of an eye, with yarns to spin and tales to tell. Should Emily follow?

Jessie wakes after a particularly long nap, stretches out her front paws, her rear high in the air, and yawns a mighty yawn.

Despite Zarathustra being out of his league, Quackenbush finds the tome worthy of saving.

He is a natural bookbinder, and a little less a creature binder. Relating to other creatures is not his forte, despite recent improvements in that area.

Quackenbush appreciates Emily’s culinary efforts, as well as Naia’s gymnastics, Jessie’s dances while in slumber, and Zandrian’s aesthetic sense.

Food is indeed the magic word.

Where's Naia? I can tell she has been just here recently but I can't detect her immediacy.
