In Alice in Wonderland (2010), Johnny Depp injured his ankle during the Futterwacken (Mad Hatter's dance) scene, so a stunt double had to be used in his place.

A lot of the cast on Little House on the Prairie didn't like Melissa Sue Anderson (Mary) and they really wanted her off the show. She finally ended up quitting and left acting for good. She now lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada with a family.

Johnny Depp put a white stripe in Sweeney Todd's hair because he has a nephew with a similar hairstyle.

Shannen Doherty would make her first tv appearance as Jenny Wilder on Little House on the Prairie before her big role on 90210.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) - Willy Wonka's hairstyle and sunglasses were inspired by Anna Wintour, editor in chief of fashion magazine Vogue.

Most road signs in the United States use a font/typeface called Highway Gothic. Some states are increasingly using a newer font on signs called Clearview, which is designed to be easier to read.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) - Someone working on the original script wanted Charlie to not have a dad so that Willy Wonka could become a father figure to him, but Tim Burton rejected the idea because he says that Willy Wonka would not make a good dad. Burton says that "Willy Wonka is just as messed up as the kids who tour his factory, if not more so." (not an exact quote, but something to that effect)

Beka Cooper is Alanna's husband George Cooper's ancestor. Therefore, the Song of the Lioness and Trickster series' are centered around Beka Cooper's distant descendants (or in Alanna's case, descendants-in-law).

Built in 1949, the Four-Level Interchange in Los Angeles is the world's first "stack" interchange. It lies US Highway 101 and California State Route 110 meet.

Edward Scissorhands - Allegedly, the frail, elderly Vincent Price (who plays Edward's creator) fainted while filming, and Tim Burton kept the actual fainting in the final cut of the movie.

Michael Landon, as good of a director as he was, was an alcoholic who left his family for another woman he met on set. This caused a lot of friction in Melissa Sue Anderson's relationship with Michael Landon who she looked up to as a father. After the show ended she didn't speak to Michael Landon until the week of his death. Melissa has been greatly traumatized after he died of cancer in the early 90's.

Alice in Wonderland (2010) - A couple of the words used in the movie are not from the time period that the movie takes place in. These words are "Jakarta" and "bonkers".

Arroyo Seco Parkway in Los Angeles and Pasadena is the first freeway in California. It was built in 1940, and is currently signed as part of California State Route 110. The adjacent Harbor Freeway comprises the remainder of CA-110.

Alice in Wonderland (2010) - Each character in Underland (Wonderland) has a "real" name. They are:

Mad Hatter - Tarrant Hightopp (some early promotional materials referred to him as "Tarrant Milliner", but in later promotional materials as well as the movie itself, his clan is referred to as "Hightopp")
White Queen - Mirana
Red Queen - Iracebeth
White Rabbit - Nivens McTwisp
March Hare - Thackery Earwicket
Dormouse - Mallymkun
Dodo - Uilleam
Smoking Caterpillar - Absolem
Cheshire Cat - Chessur (I was disappointed with the lack of creativity with this particular name)

There's probably more, but those are the names I can remember off the top of my head (no pun intended).

PS - Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, the Bandersnatch and the Jabberwocky do not have alternate names.
