How far out does that wave of unconcernedness go? I'll have to keep my helping people feel more peaceful to a minimum in crowded spaces. :) I'm sorry about that last bumper to bumper traffic buildup, but at least everyone was driving slow at the time it happened.

You have the power to create doorways in walls, doorknob included, however, all the doors are locked and you do not have the key.

Ah, guess I'll have to use my previous superpower to teleport to the other side of the door. Can I do that, or will my old powers disappear when new ones are assigned? Anyway, if I can do it, I hope nobody minds my state of undress when I get there. If I can't do it, I hope I'm not trying to get into a bathroom or something.

You have the power to see things happening in distant places around the world. However, you become so distracted by what you see that you keep bumping into everything when you walk.

It would be like daydreaming ar getting lost in thought, only with a purpose. Not bad! And yes, once I bumped into a postlight because of that.

You can blast things away. But the effectiveness greatly diminishes with distance, and you are not shielded from it's effects.

I'm glad I don't have that super power, it wouldn't be useful at all; I hate explosions, loud noises, and shock waves...

You have the power to make anyone believe every word you say, but you can only tell the truth.

That seems like a perfectly good power to me. Don't want to tell something true? Just don't speak. Why should anyone be compelled to believe lies anyway? So, not a bad "weakness" after all. And a nice upside to an Aspie trait. I hate not being believed when I tell the truth, and I'm told I'm "painfully honest" - whatever that means. (No, I don't like causing pain.)

You can silence the sounds around you at will. But it stills whatever caused the sounds, so you could cause planes to drop out of the sky in a panic.

MindWithoutWalls, your heartbeat is bothering me...

You can go through walls and floors. But when you activate your power you automatically start falling through the floor too, it's even possible to end up at the earth core or something. Also, you still need to breath.

I feel dizzy just thinking about that power. How do you get back up through the floor if you're always falling? Best not to activate that power.

You have the power to see the future, but it comes with extreme doubt, so you never know when you're seeing the future or just imagining things.

How do we know we don't all already have that power? The doubt comes from the intermittent nature of it, right? ;-)

You can run at super high speed. But you can't course correct.

I thought of that power because I already possess it. ;) And yes, you're absolutely correct about that.

Great... I've got to get down the street in a hurry, it looks empty, I'll use my super power. Hey, where'd that bus come fr... *whack*! !

You have the unstoppable power to put people to sleep by touching them. Even you can't stop it.

Reminds me slightly of Rogue. I'd have to wear gloves everywhere then and stuff? That'd suck!

You can talk with animals. You can't talk with humans.

I hope I can still write to humans, cause otherwise posting in this forum would be kind of difficult. Since I rather prefer writing to humans over talking, I'd be fine, I guess. I could make sounds for yes and no and learn more sign language. Talking with animals would be cool. Then maybe they could stop looking at me like I'm stupid when I do talk to them. (My cat does this all the time.)

You can transform into any animal at will, but once you're an animal, you won't remember who or what you were.

Ah, sounds a little like what's claimed about reincarnation, actually.

As for the talking to animals but not people thing, I think there are probably many on WP who already feel that way anyway. ;-)

Want to write to humans, do you? Okay, remember that episode of Xena Warrior Princess in which Gabrielle writes fiction that comes true because Aphrodite causes it to happen with some sort of spell? You now have that power. But fiction is all you can write, and it all comes true in unexpected ways, kind of like in the "Corrupt A Wish" thread. (Great fun, that!)

You possess the ability to communicate with animals...the problem is that the animals you do communicate with have a high chance of being jackasses. Talk to a cat and said cat would probably go, "I'm cleaning myself because you smell like the litterbox. By the way, go clean it, slave."

I think many cats are already clearly telling people this very thing. No superpower on the part of humans needed. ;-)

You have the power to bend steel. You also have an obsession with bending steel, going after all of it you see. This tends to inconvenience others...
