Pros: There's always stuff to do, it hardly gets cold here.

Cons: Snowbirds invade every winter when the weather isn't boiling hot, hurricanes, nobody can drive correctly.

About the sports teams: Well, they've had moments in the sun. I mean, the Bengals made the playoffs this year. :)

I was actually referring to the Cleveland Browns, but yeah.

PROS: Sunshine, beaches and scenery. Good sports teams, too.
CONS: Comparative lack of sophistication and appreciation of culture.

I'm particular & have sensory issues with heat, humidity, cold & dampness. Snow & ice can also get pretty messy & dangerous on sidewalks but I think I prefer that weather to the heat & humidity in Louisiana but my ideal would be moderate temperature with little humidity.

Oregon

Pros: Beautiful wildlife & public nudity is legal in some places here (portland for example)

Cons: We'll be the first to go if China nukes the U.S. and you may see some old people wearing nothing but shoes and hats at the farmer's market in Portland.

California for 15 years. Before that I have lived in North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada.

Pros: Perfect weather. Generally not too hot, low humidity, no snow, never gets below about 30°F -1°C.
Cons: Over developed, too expensive.

After I get my SSDI, I'm not even sure I will be able to afford to live here. I may have to move someplace cheaper like Oregon.

I live in Vermont. I can't say I'd want to live anywhere else.

Pros: Beautiful scenery, a diversity of seasons (I like snow :)), an acceptance of spiritual differences, multicultural, often liberal, offers help for those who need it, community programs...

Cons: I have yet to find quality fried seafood. I guess once I tasted the food in Louisiana, I became biased. :)
Icy sidewalks/driveways are a bit hazardous. I've fallen numerous times.

Finland.

Pros: No natural disasters, none whatsoever. Politically stable.
Cons: Remote.

Bahahahaha! Remote??! You are next door to two countries (well, three if you count heading to the arctic circle), and a mere ferry ride from several others.

New Zealand

Pros: Beautiful country, politically stable, good standard of living.

Cons: A long way from anywhere. Nearest country is 3 hours plane ride, anywhere else is a lot further than that. Visiting Europe is a killer 24 hour flight.
Oh yes and earthquakes. And volcanoes.
