Yeah, it's nice being around people who like learning multiple languages. And even those that can speak them well. It keeps me motivated. I'll admit, I get jealous sometimes seeing people like Krabo, Skilpadde and Drawyer who speak fluent English as well as their own languages. But then it motivates me even more, like "I really wanna be like them, too!". Ah well, with patience and persistence ...

Yay, Murihiku finally has his own thread! :D Murihiku, I think you are very nice and interesting, knowledgeable and fun. I always enjoy reading your posts, and I'm glad you're here :D

And I too think it's amazing that you were asked to speak before a parliamentary committee 8O

Why is the flag debate so important? Can't they just use Murihiku's avatar?

^ That would be too easy. And besides, I'm not that lucky.

Most NZers don't seem to think that the flag debate is important at all. It's mostly being pushed by the Prime Minister, although I still support changing NZ's flag. I'm just not that keen on the current lot of proposed new designs.

C-SPAN is the American channel covering US congressional proceedings, right? I didn't know they covered parliamentary sessions in other countries. Which ones do they show?

Why can't New Zealanders just hang up a tie-dyed t-shirt with a Giant Weta drawn on it?

Would that not impress everyone at the U.N.?

:D

Nawww ... nice to see your dormouse picture back.

And you too, Sylkat. ;)

.....

And YES with the giant weta. It's been too long since we last saw them in a discussion here:

Wasn't DeepHour kind to shrink him so that WP would let me put him back?

Such technical expertise is far, far beyond me...........sigh.

I am not fond of anything with more than 4 legs. I jump about three feet in the air when I see a weta.

^ You jump in excitement? :P
How common is the weta there? Where will you encounter it?

Giant Wetas actually climb trees......the first pictures of them were of a female on a branch above a guy's head.

I would have been too busy staring, gasping, or whimpering in terror to have even thought of photographing the

lovely lady in question......so VERY glad that they do not live in America.

Of course, we do have Kardashians and Miley Cyrus........

You have scorpions in the US, don't you? I'd be more cautious around them.

Giant weta are pretty docile. They even look cute when eating a carrot.
