You can have action, just rewrite a little.

We needed a dedicted gun anyway.

He's too nice and perfect, make him less perfect and more dark.

And if he's military just give him high quality weapons and/or high quality body armor to start.

Will do later.

Too nice and perfect? I gave him flaws.

What about having bases?

The flaws were far too small.

Perhaps somethng like Iraq war syndrome? (PTSD with a side of Shizophrenia)

And he is allowed to have access codes to US military bases but not be commander of a base.

Keys to his car are about it - though his car is allowed to be an SUV or Hummer and one way bullet proof glass is alright.

Name: Alan Varn

Sex: Male

Appearence: burly, dark brown hair, brown eyes, wears glasses, wears grey shorts and a dark grey polo, doesn't look like someone you would want to mess with. 6 ft 1, very light skin

Useful skills: Intelligent, has a degree in computer engineering so he knows a lot about computers, fairly good at shooting, efficient, can fix electronic devices, capable of hacking into computers, networks, etc

Personality: Introvert, pessimist, realist, stubborn, a bit of a short temper, apathetic, a bit of a coward, not very creative, gentle, religous, gets worried easily

Possesions at time nuclear bombing: A notepad filled with some designs of computers, a few books of the sci-fi and horror variety, a pistol, 2 clips of ammo, a case of Imperial Guard and Space Marine miniatures (he was going to a Warhammer 40k tournament at time of holocaust), and a bowie knife, and a Bible. The reason he has so many stuff? He carries a backpack around.

We better watch out, with all these engineer/hacker types the DM is going to be tempted to through Sky Net at us! At least no ones name is Conner.

Once we Anubis corrects his character or someone is approved we will begin.

Name: Colonel Alexander Saldana

Sex: Male

Appearance: Slightly overweight, brown hair, green eyes, medium height, quite muscular, pale white skin. When not wearing silver/grey body armour, normally wears green/brown camoflauge.

Useful skills: Skilled with weapons, resourceful, skilled, good at taking charge of situation.

Personality: Strong willed, resourceful, mainly optimistic, slightly short tempered, impatient, unforgiving. Commanding, can come across as a control freak, but for the better. Deserted from the British army when the nuclear war started.

This works for me.

All right, we got six players ready to go.

Virgil, Alan, Sydney and Col. Alexander will start in the bunker.

Aaron will be met quickly after we leave the bunker and Nida will be met later at her players discretion.

Any Objections?

No. But you may have to wait a few hours before you'll get any participation from me, I'm going out. Say that I'm still in the bunker's lab or something.

OOC: Got it

RP: Virgil went over the meters again - for months he'd been waitng for the radiation meter to drop just a meager point and each day they had spited him by standing by their number. Until today that is, today the meter had dropped a shocking two points. Checking the meters five times just to make sure he still had his sanity and he felt a mild pleasure. This underground tomb they'd lived in for months did it's job - he hated to admit it but that damn Syndey was a genius for helping him bulid during the months of escalation between the EU and China. Opting not to annoy him (He was working on some new toy) he bashed the intercom button to the Colonel's "Get up here and suit up. Looks like you gotta check out the surface." As he cleaned up his tools he felt a mild sense of curiosity - he wanted to see what was on the surface and felt jealous of the Colonel for demanding he be the first to go up. When his tools were all perfectly in place in his tool chest he hunkered down on a plastic chair nearby and put in his earbuds to pass the time.

BANG!

"Damnation! Reverse the polarity, damn you! You're no use to me unless you reverse the polarity of your electric flow!"

Sydney Lydecker was performing the final tests of his multiscanner, the first of it's kind, especially in such a portable manner (although it looked more like a laser rifle connected to a bulky backpack). Unfortunately, it had chosen this time to get ornery, and Lydecker was using the usual resort of those frustrated by technology, even those who are experts: percussive therapy. In other words, using a mallet to strike key points of it out of frustration.

Of course, the frustration he felt was that of spending so much time cooped up in this damned bunker. He'd helped Virgil design and build it, and it was quite spacious for a nuclear bunker (only the military and heads of state would have anything better, as far as he knew). But it was still a confined space. If he were alone, fine, but it was with 3 others: Virgil, Alan, and the Colonel. He hadn't helped matters, admittedly, with his own...idiosyncracies. Where space was at a premium, he'd often leave books and computer discs where people'd trip or crush them, and got pissed off at them. And they had teased him for his talking to objects, as well as the plants in the 'garden', a suggestion he had made to Virgil to supplement the oxygen supply as well as food supplies.

Ah well. He was nearly finished. He'd made copies of the environmental meters that were relayed to his lab, and as he glanced at them, he noted the radiation fall.

Hmm. They were lower than usual. Virgil must be getting someone to suit up and investigate. Sydney was mildly amused. Like the probably long dead inhabitants of the city in which he was born and he took his name from, he had a sardonic, cynical sense of humour.

The multiscanner bleeped at him, then trilled.

"Ahhhh, are you working? You aren't going to give me any curry, are you?"

FZZT!

The device made the machine equivalent of a rude noise and turned off. Sydney screamed at it (good thing he'd soundproofed the room in order to spare the others his frustrated howls), until he saw the battery protruding.

Damn thing started working just as the battery ran out. Bloody thing....

The armoury was situated on the second sublevel beneath the bunker ground level, a moderate sized room connected to the firing range and corridors. The room had hundreds of various weapons, several suits of armour, and lots of ammunition.
"Right on it. I'll be up in two minutes. Keep me updated on the environmental situation out there. Don't want to get caught in the open during a storm." Saldana turned off the armoury comlink.
Alexander Saldana fitted on the HEATS(Hazardous Environment Armour Tactical Suit), loaded a MP5 submachine gun, and picked up 3 clips of ammuniton and a flashbang grenade. He then messaged the command room.
"Ready, I'm coming up now." Saldana headed up the stairs to the metal blast door as fast as he could in the heavy armour, opening Sydney's radio channel using the suit's integrated communications. "Sydney, you'll have to place some sensors and visual equipment outside, we need to be able to observe the outside remotely."

The colonel sighed nervously as he reached the sublevel 1 inner blast door, after going through the decontamination chamber, and gave the go-ahead to open it. The bunker was sealed from the rest of the world by two reinforced blast doors which led to a stairway up to a dilapidated warehouse in the middle of nowhere, North Dakota.
The inner blast door opened sideways, the two halves parting with a bone grinding noise, revealing a small, bare chamber between the two doors. "Inner chamber is clear." Saldana crouched in a firing position as the outer blast door opened, just in case.

There was no need to worry, the outside entrance was clear, and Saldana walked up to the warehouse ground floor with caution.
