A main raison d'etre is to keep pondering for what purpose (if there is a purpose) we all exist in the first place.
On a somewhat related point, I think it is quite fascinating that hydrogen and helium are thought to be the only two original elements to exist at the beginning of time. Also it is hard to fathom how any animal, let alone humans, could have been formed out of the stuff of stars. (Perhaps the existence of electricity makes this easier to fathom?). Of course I do realise that the explanations of astronomy are only one body of thought's point of view out of many body of thought's points of view.
Also, I realise that it is likely impossible or near impossible to know for sure why we all exist. But I still think it is something useful to think about because it is a question above all others.
Other raison d'etre are to be the best that I can be (by knocking down real or perceived barriers myself or someone else has put up), to get up quickly when faced with setbacks, and to work on improving my social skills.

I am curious to know what sort of book you want to get published.
