That sounds scary drifting off at a crosswalk! Do you have help for when you apply for jobs? That's strange that you have been applying for 3 months and not one of them replied back.(Not that I would know, haven't worked in my life, just seems strange.)

Yeah, I'm always alarmed when I come back to reality and realize that I have no idea if I checked for cars at the roads I crossed. Fortunately I'm usually just walking around the neighborhood, not crossing busy intersections. Even just teaching my dog to stop has helped a lot because I have to pay attention to tell him to sit before we cross.

I took a class at a place that specializes in helping children and young adults with neurological disorders about employment, focusing on creating a resume. The people there said my resume looks good, and that's also where I learned about Web sites to use for job hunting. I had to search for six months or so after graduating college to get even the part-time cleaning job I had. I only heard back from two places during that time - one of them gave me a preliminary interview, which I promptly failed because I have a tremor that was really bad that day, so I looked "extremely terrified," even though I wasn't, and the other didn't have an interview and just hired me for the cleaning job. I had that for a little over a year before the company was sold. I just have terrible luck when it comes to applying for jobs, it seems

Either it is bad luck or the people training you weren't that good. Did they train you for interviews?(like practice runs.) I would think unless you are really good at "masking" during the practice session the teacher would have noticed something was up.

They did a little bit of interview preparation, but not a lot. I can't mask to save my life My problem right now is that I can't even get to the interview part.

I'm sorry they didn't help you more. It sucks that there isn't more things geared toward one-on-one teaching(well there is but it tend to be more expensive.)

Yeah, I might have to start looking into vocational rehabilitation soon, since that seems to be the only other thing that can help me with job stuff around here.

My mother told me I would have to do the same problem is, just thinking of calling a place raises my anxiety level over 9000!

My mom found a Web site with a form that I think I'd turn in in person. That's better than a phone call for me. My mom handles all the phone calls because I can't really speak understandably over the phone. My speech isn't always the clearest under the best of circumstances, and anxiety only makes it harder for me to speak understandably.

I get all confused when talking on the phone. Even when places ask me simple questions like my phone number it takes me a while to answer! I have trouble filling out forms without assistance. How are you when it comes to forms?

I'm OK with forms as long as I understand exactly what information they want - sometimes I'm unsure about the wording. My mom helps me with that, too, if need be.
