"Who's Irene?" Lilli asked.

Laura sighed, her face a combination between annoyed and scared. "When me and Calem went to Glittering Cave to look for some fossil researcher's assistant, there were two Team Flare minions, both around our age. I don't rerember the boy's name, but the girl's name was Irene. We had a Tag Battle against them... and that's where Mikey died. She freaking laughed! Even after that, I kept seeing that meanie... She may have been evil, but she was so pretty, but pretty or not, we were battling each other every chance we got, I wanted to make her pay for what she done to my starter. I...I still can't forgive her...!"

[Oh, darn! I totally forgot about Angewomon! She just sort of disappeared... Maybe I'll have it that she secretly stayed behind to help look after Karion? It seems like an Angewomon thing to do. Okay, pretend that there's a Digimon that looks like this hanging around trying not to get in the way or act conspicuous while simultaneously keeping an eye on everyone--did I just make a terrible pun?
Yes, she's definitely conspicuous. ]

(Bump.)

Suddenly Kiki was staring behind Oeuyia.
"Who's this lovely friend of yours?" They grinned.
"I don't believe we've been... properly acquainted," they said, their eyes not moving from the same spot.

"This is Angewomon, our Digimon partner." Oeuyia explained. "She is a Holy Digimon designed for healing and purifying."

Laura sighed, trying to push her starter out of her mind for the time being, and grinned. "We have an anime back home about how Pokemon turn into these creatures called Digimon when they're stored in computers, so I already know who you are, Angwomon. "Tell me, do you know Lunamon or Shoutmon?"

"I have met several Lunamon and Shoutmon during my travels." Angewomon replied.

A high pitched shrill escaped her throat. "So everything in the show did happen!" She cheered.

Calem, who was walking alongside her with his hands in his pockets, smiled slightly. The way Laura was acting reminded him of Serena. Back when they were going to the Trainer's school in Santalune City, there was a lot of pressure put on the siblings to be as great as their accomplished parents, especcially Serena. They would scold her for making one wrong move, or getting anything less than perfect on a test. He eventually started flunking tests on purpose and acting really cold and snobby to get in trouble, so they would scold him instead of Serena, and she would squeal and be really happy, grateful for his sacrifice. In turn, though, Serena got to leave home before he did, even though he was older than her. When the time finally did come, his parents had gotten what they wanted out of Serena, being both a well known Pokemon Preforner and a Sky Trainer, alongside her Mega evolving Kangaskan and Talonflame, so they just gave up on Calem. Not that it mattered now, being 17 years old, he knew how to take care of himself.

Karion suddenly made a plaintive sound, as if she was distressed by something, and crawled over to where Angewomon was leaning against a nearby wall. It was impossible to see Angewomon's expression, since her eyes were hidden by her helmet, but she smiled slightly as she reached down to the little girl.

(I'm really sorry I'm making all of these backstories really sad, I just really like sad stories!)

"Um, what's going... on?" She asked, walking over to Angwomon and Kairion, deciding to reach out to the Dandere child, though slightly uncomfortable.

[Most of the backstories of the characters in my books are sad, along with my newest imagined Digimon story. What does Dandere mean?]

"She wants to be comforted." Angewomon spoke softly, as if making sure she didn't startle Karion by accident.

Lilli squatted down next to Angewomon and tilted their head at Karion.
"Why does she want to be comforted?" they asked.

"She has been broken over and over again...right?" Angewomon explained, gradually tilting her head to look in Oeuyia's direction, and the latter nodded subtly, an unreadable expression on her face. Karion grabbed lightly at Angewomon's flowing hair, as if trying to hold a kitten.

(It means without emotion, or seeming like it.)

"Broken over and over again? What does that mean?" Laura inquired.

"She has..." Oeuyia looked as if she was searching for specific words. "Karion has been severely traumatized to the point that she often does not react to anything, and so she will always be a young child."
