Banned for not realizing that when other people tell you they sleep, they're only saying that because they don't want you to know the truth about your extremely rare genetic condition that causes you to lose consciousness at some point around the end of each day.

Banned for making me feel fear and trembling every time I see your avatar!

(As a kid, I read a couple of these Muumi books and I couldn't figure out what sort of form of life the characters represented. They were partly human, partly animals, they lived in a fantacy world. The only connection to the real universe was one instance when Muumipappa found Japanese pearls on the shore. The pearls being Japanese was not commented in any more detail. I was a little reassured, though, and I thought that they cannot be formidable monsters because they recognize Japanese artefacts when they see some.)

They are supposed to be trolls, although they certainly come out looking rather like hippos in the drawings. There is no reason to be scared, they are very friendly, and I always thought, quite accepting of neuro diversity. The books can be a little weird, I did wonder if she was on drugs when she wrote them. If not she has a very strange imagination. My favourite character was always Nuuskamuikkunen - very zen 8)

Anyway, Banned nonetheless for being scared of Muumi

Banned because I can't type too fast here for some reason, otherwise this happens:

I don't know , but some parts of what I type get missed out for some reason. Like the word why, just there.

All previous bans lifted because of perfect spelling of Snufkin's original name. 8)

Nuuskamuikkunen could be translated, too, but it requires a lengthy explanation and some knowledge of the structure of Finnish. Elsewhere you have said that you're interested in Finnish. All right, let me try.

"Nuuska" means snus, this moist powder tobacco product, or originally snuff, the dry powder tobacco product. "Muikku" is a species of fish, translatable as "freshwater whitefish" or "vendance" or "cisco". Now, add the suffix -nen to Muikku and you get Muikkunen which means either "small vendance" (etc.) or someone who has something to do with those kinds of fish, or even someone who resembles slightly those fish. I think these latter two options were originally meant. Put all together, you have "Nuuskamuikkunen" who could be someone known to use snus/snuff and resembling or having affairs with freshwater whitefish. Very zen, indeed.
