Post 1992

In 1992 I fell in love for the first time. That was weird. Head over, blah blah blah. O yeah...I turned 21 too. Bought a beer at midnight, took a sip, and then gave it to my buddy. I don't drink. That summer was a blast. Lollapalooza (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Lush, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Ministry, and Soundgarden), Beastie Boys, Live twice, and U2 twice, including St. Patrick's Day in Boston at the old Gahden. Spent Spring Break at St. Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where the temperature was below zero. In Miami it was mid-80's.

That can also apply to meth addicts.

Crystal Meth screws you up really badly, and anyone who sells it should be castrated and hung upside down.

Aye. In my state there are a lot of meth users. I can't believe people would use that crap. People in my state make it in homes where children are present! I wish the governments did more to combat meth, or any drug that hurts you for that matter.

Post 1995:

In 1995, I started my new life in Charlottesville in the Engineering Physics Department at UVa. Tore my ACL while skiing. Dated several girls in an attempt to get over my ex. One of them got too close and I ran. I feel bad about that, but I wasn't ready for a relationship. I just wanted to replace certain memories. Got in trouble for dating one of my students in a course I was teaching. Hooked up with Seven Mary Three and started promoting them big time in Virginia. Was really into the music business by this point, and considered dropping out of school to do this full time. Went to Lollapalooza again. Also saw a lot of shows locally in Charlottesville and the surrounding areas, including Seven Mary Three, Filter, The Gufs, Guster, Helmet, Quicksand, Lush, Pavement, 2 Skinnee J's, Slackjaw, Rollins Band, Matchbook Poets, Full Stop, Gibb Droll, Fighting Gravity, Everything, Live, and many, many more. Star Wars Toys were back, so that was good...except for my wallet.

Seven Mary Three "American Standard" - I was invited to the show in Orlando that resulted in their signing. I revealed my 7M3 tattoo in the middle of the show and they almost stopped playing. Backstage, they were talking about my tattoo more than the fact that ten record labels were there intent on signing them. Spent the night with them after that show and was a part of the discussion about all of the record labels who were trying to sign them. They went with Mammoth, due to the small family feel, but the distribution arrangement Mammoth had with Atlantic. When they released this album, I was at the release show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando.
Shane MacGowan & The Popes "The Snake"
Slackjaw "All Fallen Heroes" - Fellow UVa students I got to know and helped out as well. They should have made it. This album is awesome and was produced by the same guy who did "Churn" by Seven Mary Three while they were at William & Mary.
The Smashing Pumpkins "Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness"
Sting "Ten Summoner's Tales" - This is a beautifully structured album.
2 Skinnee J's "Return Of The New And Improved" - An amazing group and an amazing EP. Great performers and great guys. I met them through a show they did with Seven Mary Three and ended up helping to promote them as well.

Not the governments job to keep you from f*****g yourself up. Freedom of chioce includes freedom to destroy yourself.

Drugs have an effect on families, and don't just destroy the lives of meth users. Plus, the drug is monstrous, and it needs to be purged from the streets by whatever means neccessary, just like all the other abominations of recreational chemicals. People should know that it's wrong and stupid to screw yourself up in such a way.

1. There are services for those families to help them recover

2. Violates the first amendment of the US consitution. You have the freedom to f**k yourself up as you see fit.

3. Even if it is wrong and stupid it's not the governments job to stop you.
