That's very naive of you, Flagg. I'm doing a thesis on drug abuse and genetics.

Some points:

*If a drug user has a family, and they're not involved with drugs, it can be very bad. Ranging from financial trouble, to being disreputed in the neighbourhood, to being threatened by their own flesh and blood, to murder.

*Freedom to f*** yourself up, maybe, but many drug addicts also f*** others up, and they certainly do not have the freedom to do that, and they certainly won't care while under the influence.

*Finally, if it is the government's job to make sure its populace is safe, then they can and should stop you from taking drugs (and thus possibly endangering others).

1. By then it's too late, government action could have prevented the drugs from ruining a person's life and wrecking their family.

2. Too bad that the first amendment says nothing of the sort, it mainly refers to religion, free speech, and freedom of association. And I'm not even in the USA.

3. Governments have a duty to protect their citizens.

The year 2001, was of course, a memorable one...good and bad. I had booked the same flight out of Dulles to LAX for the morning of Monday, 10 September 2001, but cancelled the trip a week earlier. I still have the memo pad where I had written down the Flight #. A family friend was a pilot for UAL and was the pilot on that flight, just one day earlier. My brother-in-law, who worked in mid-town Manhattan, was supposed to go to the gym that fateful morning in the third building that fell, but was running late to work and skipped his workout. He witnessed both planes from his office. We could not get in touch with him until late that evening. My Father was across the street from the Pentagon when it was hit. The base in Virginia I worked at was evacuated. It was definitely surreal. I know people who knew people. It was rough.

The Miami Hurricane Football Team went undefeated and won their 5th National Championship, winning the Rose Bowl, which I was fortunate enough to attend. Their unbeaten streak, carrying over from 2000, would continue through the 2002 regular season. The Miami Hurricane Baseball Team won their 4th College World Series Title, finishing the season with a huge undefeated streak all the way through the Regional, Super Regional, and World Series. The New England Patriots ran the tables down the stretch and went into the playoffs hot, winning Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002.

A lot of meth users here too. One of the signs is a persons teeth almost crumbling apart over time. That's how damaging it is. The main reason that most meth labs are not stopped is because it can take up to 100,000$ per site to clean up all of the toxic chemicals. There isn't enough money for all of the meth labs, so many times they just have to ignore until they have the money.

You seem to be having an interesting time with the correlating # of posts to the year thing...

I half suspect that when we get past 2007, you're going to start predicting the future... Acurately. I will pay attention.
