Laura smiled at Kairion. "That explains a lot, I geuss.."

Calem snorted, looking at the ground. "I can relate." He muttered. Seeing about 20 people being crushed to death and almost becoming one of them, trying to carry the girl he loved to safety, probably counted as a trauma.

Laura looked at him like he had gone nuts. "Did you actually just say..." She knew what he was refrencing, but she couldn't belive it. This was the first time in three years he even refrenced it.

"He nodded slightly. "Don't read too much into it."

"She used to be much more lively, though she seems to be regaining her vitality a bit." Oeuyia continued, staring at nothing in particular as if searching for memories from long ago.
"I am helping as much as I can." Angewomon added, watching in amusement as Karion draped Angewomon's hair over her own head, as if pretending to have the same hair.

"Hm.."
Lilli's eyes were distant for a second, focusing on nothing. They stared at Karion silently, watching her movements.

"...Can she talk?" they asked abruptly.

"She can vocalize somewhat, but it seems as though she would rather not talk." Oeuyia clarified, yet even she looked uncertain.

"If you don't mind me asking... what happened? Sorry if I'm being insensitive..." Laura inquired.

"I could show you what happened, actually, though you may not want to see." Oeuyia cautioned as Karion attempted to climb all over Angewomon, even scrambling up over the Holy Digimon's head [much to the latter's slight tolerance].

"Hmm."
Lilli stared silently, as if allowing the statement to sink in, and then looked at Karion and nodded.
"I can understand that."

They stared at the wall, talking to Oeuyia but not looking at her.
"Y'know, sometimes it's funny, 'cause you can talk perfectly on the inside but you can't talk on the outside."

They reached over and flipped Karion's hair over her face, causing her face to look like a curtain. They laughed as Karion furiously tried to brush the hair out of her face, looking like a tiny angry curtain monster in the process.

"Some people's vocal cords actually freeze up when confronted with an uncomfortable situations." Lilli stated. "I read that that's a common reaction to anxiety in humans."

They finally flipped Karion's hair out of her face, who looked up at them and stuck out her tongue. Lilli snickered.

"How perceptive." Oeuyia commented as she attempted to free Angewomon from Karion's excessive climbing. The attempt was, unfortunately, met with great resistance, and only succeeded when Karion suddenly decided to investigate Lilli again.

"Actually, can you just tell us instead of showing us?" She said, slightly embarrased, but she wanted to know what happened. "That's actually why I would faint in extremely overwhelming situations." She piped, when Lilli said her tidbit. "My lungs and my head would freeze up, and that would make my body would shut down temporarily."

"Very well." Oeuyia closed her eyes as if concentrating. "When Karion was even smaller than she is now, I took her to many worlds. She was quite adventurous, even for one so young. Eventually, we went to the Digital World. Angewomon then became my partner, and we all tried to heal the Digital World as best we could. However, one day I decided to return to our world, but Karion did not want to leave. She became extremely upset, and when I tried to comfort her, she ran away. We became separated for a short while, and when I found her again she had discovered a lost Digi-egg. The baby Nyaromon inside instantly imprinted on her, and so we did have to stay for awhile as Karion insisted on taking care of the baby. There were many distortions in the Digital World about then, and many Digimon became infected by an unknown virus...including the baby Nyaromon. We had to leave for our own safety, just in case the virus could infect non-digital beings. But then..." Oeuyia stopped abruptly, as if unwilling to go on.

[I'm sort of connecting this to the Digimon Adventure Tri movies. Nyaromon looks like this, by the way.]

Lilli did not reply to Oeuyia. For a moment they looked very uncomfortable.

Suddenly Karion started climbing on Lilli again, and they laughed.
They gently picked Karion up and stuck her on their head.
"Look, I have a hat. A human hat."

Karion stood perfectly still, looking like a statue.

"Look, aren't I fashionable?" Lilli said in a posh accent, floofing Karion's hair as if it were own. They did an exaggerated imitation of a rich woman walking down the street, holding onto Karion with a swagger as if she were a very expensive fur hat.

Karion stayed still the entire time, until about halfway through when she suddenly started doing jazz hands.

"Oh my!" Lilli exclaimed, still in character. "My hat is so fancy it even moves!"

(Sorry, I started writing this before you posted the whole "Oeuyia telling Karion's story" part.. )

"Human?" Oeuyia looked quite puzzled. "We are not human. We are nothing." She added mysteriously, but then laughed at the sight of Karion on Lilli's head.

Laura giggled at the spectacle Kairion and Lilli were making, the imitation Lilli was doing looked even funnier, as it was making a mockery of those snobs back home who have more money than brains.

"Nothing? But diddn't you just hug Laura a minute ago?" Calem looked bewildered.

Riku seemed intriged by Kairion. He couldn't tell if this was aura he was getting, or some other strange signal. He walked over to Lilli and looked at Kairion with a confused look on his face.

"Yes, I did, but we are still nothing. What you see as physical bodies are only illusions." Oeuyia answered cryptically.

"Yo, are you corporeal?" Kiki asked with sudden interest. They may have said that a bit too quickly, as a few people-- (cough cough, Calem) -- looked at them with suspicion, but Kiki paid them no mind.

Lilli, however, didn't want to stray too far from the topic of Karion's story.
"So what happened next?" they asked tentatively. They were afraid to ask that question, seeing as it might be a sensitive topic for Oeuyia, but still. Their brain was dying to know the answer.

"Corporeal? Well, you could say that." Oeuyia replied vaguely, but then finished her story. "Just as we were about to leave, the Nyaromon became fully corrupted and instantly evolved into a dark form of Ophanimon. She became almost unstoppable, nearly destroying Angewomon outright, and I barely managed to heal her before she did too much damage. However, the sheer strength of her abilities caused massive ruptures and fissures, and...before I knew it, Karion had fallen down into a chasm. She would have died, but I linked our lives together, and that has kept her alive ever since. As for Angewomon, she was sent back to the Village of Beginnings, reborn as a Digi-egg, but I never-"
"Stop." Angewomon exclaimed severely, and Oeuyia looked at her sharply. "karion does not know, and never will."
"They want to hear the full story." Oeuyia pointed out, but Angewomon shook her head.
