Haha, yeah, I should have Scythe do that! It's funny, because outside of this fanfic I haven't developed Scythe AT ALL!

Bob so far is the leader/planner who 'just knows things' and Booger is the pyromaniac with crazy ideas.

"Well," Bob said, "I suggest we wait until morning so we can get enough energy for the trip."
"Those mountains sound dangerous, though." Marilyn pointed out. "Shouldn't we need warm cloaks and a bit of climbing equipment and stuff?"
"That's a good point." Booger said
"Well..." Bob considered. He took his time, before saying "...I still think we should leave ASAP. Who knows when that passageway will be opened."
"I for one think we should get the right stuff." Marilyn argued, "It's no good trying to make our way there if we die first."
"Ye to that!" Booger agreed. "What's Scythe think of it?"
"ASAP, no question." Scythe said. She had no intention of spending even an extra minute with Koise if she could help it.
"Well Koise, it boils down to you." Bob said.
"Well I, er..." Koise hadn't really thought about what to do. To be perfectly honest, while he did want to go back into his own self again, he didn't mind spending an extra day in Scythe. He stalled for a while, before, very reluctantly (due to preferring to not answer at all) "...we'll take an extra day."
"Okay then." Bob said. He didn't mind being beaten in an argument.
"What about Kipo?" Marilyn added quickly.
The gang looked around for her, but she was nowhere to be found.
"Where is she?" Koise asked
"Dunno!" Marilyn replied. "Kipo?!" she called.

Kipo was sitting in her room, which was shared by Koise, and was playing with her Dayol Cube. The previous times she entered and exited the room Koise was asleep, so Koise didn't know about it. She was in the corner next to the bed, and she had left the argument because, based on previous experience, she was not needed and therefore didn't need to be there to attend. In fact the only reason she really tagged along was because it was something to do, and she much preferred that over wandering alone in the middle of nowhere.

She was a fair way into her Dayol Cube, with about ten pieces on, when Marilyn came in.
"Kipo, there you are!" she said. "Where were you?"
Kipo didn't reply. She didn't feel the need because the answer was obvious, but she also felt conflicted to say something because she felt that that is what you do when someone asks you a question.
"Where were you?" Marilyn repeated.
"I was here, playing with my Dayol Cube."
"Why?"
"Because I do not seem to be needed during meetings, so I decided to stay here. I do not feel comfortable when I am doing nothing."
"Oh, okay. I'm sorry about that, Kipo." A pause of silence. "Would you like to come downstairs? We're deciding on whether we should navigate the Kulun Mountains tomorrow or the day after."
"Okay." Kipo got up and headed for the door.
"What would you like to do?" Marilyn asked.
"I do not care what we do next." Kipo said, and rather bluntly, Marilyn thought.
"Oh, uhm, okay." Marilyn followed Kipo down the stairs to the kitchen table, where they always held their meetings.
"Ah, you got her!" Bob said, who was sitting among Booger and Scythe/Koise. "So, what's the result?"
"She doesn't mind what we do." Marilyn replied.
"Okay, so we're off to find random stuff!" Booger said. "Goody!"

What is the 'stuff'?

Marilyn and her welding skills, what does this door look like, how thick is it?

Well the 'door' is more like a sheet of metal. It really shouldn't matter because how many of you will bring the right stuff to get through it? But if you want to be specific, it's about thick as four CD's stacked on top of each other (so four times the width of a CD).

Random Update for today.

I decided to post up pics of the other three as-of-yet unillustrated characters: Scythe, Booger and Bob.


This is Booger, in colour.


And that's Booger's axe-sword, which is named Starbuline (:roll:). The CD is there for scale.


That' Scythe. She doesn't actually have devil wings, she just has these in this drawing because they suit her.


And this is the only pic I have with Bob in it. Here, you can see the height of many of the characters in my story, and Kowhai is used as the base height for an average human. The other characters in there probably will make an appearance here!

Er, guys, you can comment on the drawings, you know.

They weren't at all like what I had imagined them to be like. It is certainly interesting to see your perspective, though. I'll have to keep those pictures in mind next time I read. I don't know why, but I had a mental picture of Bob as rather gruffer than you seem to have him. I'd love to see a picture of Kipo, though. Why didn't you put her up?

I like this because it shows that Kipo is camera-shy.

I guess I should have posted the pictures as soon as I introduced the characters.

Sorry about the update break again guys.

I've decided that I'm not going to tell this next bit 'live' and I'll compress it down, as I find typing the next 'gather more stuff' section a bit boring.



And so the gang all went off the gather their various supplies from around town. Booger and Bob got a few books from Bob's Basement Library, Koise/Scythe and Kipo went to the grocery store to get some food, and Marilyn went to get some climbing equipment. Marilyn brought back all kinds of things from equipments store when she came back: Studded boots, picks, extra backpacks, ropes, even two tents which were charmed so that they'd shrink to the size of a Rubik's Cube when packed away. Bob's magical book collection that he brought with him for the trip contained but a few of the broad selection of notes, research, dangers, records, spell casting techniques, dictionaries, dragon slaying stories, wand instruction manuals, warranty guides, and customized pointy hat magazines that he had available to him at his fingertips (in stores now at all good book stores from $19.95 each!).
Koise, Scythe and Kipo's selection of foods ranged mainly from fruits and vegetables, canned food and other healthy goods, although Kipo was able to give them some insightful and useful information about some of the products there. As an example, she told them that Reetha Cabbage has been proven to increase one's morale by 8% per leaf (and the whole cabbage has about 20 leaves on it).

They regrouped at Bob's house, and packed it in for the day.


The next day they woke up early, so as to make the most ground on that day, and set off. The road into the mountains required them to continue up the main road for a bit before taking a small worn path that led them up the slopes of the mountains for a bit before stopping and winding it's way through the crevasses. The bottom of these were full of bush and dotted with trees, and the path had bushes leaning their leaves all over it. As the first half hour of travel passed, Koise caught a glimpse of a figure far away on a mountain-side, and he wondered what it was with caution.

What's the weather going to be like for the day?
