Did he also have a teapot in space and a list of all lists not containing themselves?

How could I deny the idea behind your question?

Can you do it without using any negatives?

Isn't it proven to be impossible?

Questions aside: Russell tried, among other things, define the extent of the mat and the location of the cat in the XY-plane. So far good. But when wanted to express the fact that the cat's location was something else than the extent of the mat, he had to raise his hands.

What if the mat is labeled as negative and everything but the mat is assumed to be positive?

Isn't Krabo not allowed to ask any questions whatsoever? Even if he put a little "Questions aside" thingy next to it?

Doesn't your suggestion contain an implicit negation?

If we define the outside of the mat to be positive, and the mat to be negative, then can we express the statement "The cat is not on the mat" without using any form of negation?

Wouldn't the act of defining the mat to be negative count as a negation within the whole process?

Why not simply state that the cat is in the tree?

But is the tree on, or off the Martian mat?

Wouldn't the tree be off the Martian mat because of the lack of trees on Mars?
